Nobody wants to be Europe. That doesn't mean we can't show a minimum amount of respect for them. They are allies. Or they were, before Trump and Vance showed their ass to the world.
Plus our word and our reputation doesn't mean squat if we act this way. History is a long story, we may need them someday.

Do they routinely invade other countries (whether for sport or personal gain) or do they not invade other countries? Do they abide by international laws or do they violate international laws? Do they steal our technology without paying for it? Do they trash the planet (including using up natural resources) or do they take steps to preserve the planet for future generations? Do they vandalize the property of other countries, such as cutting undersea cables? China and Russia are the trashy neighbors that bring the property values down in the neighborhood. It's something in the communist DNA. Europe checks all of the right (important) boxes to be our allies. You would have to be pretty trashy to think that China and Russia check off any of the important boxes to be our allies. They may one day become our allies, but probably not with their present form of government. Simply put: the citizens of China and Russia deserve better than the kind of government they have.
I'm not sure why you quoted me in your rant just for pointing out how stupid the immigration policies of many European countries are. Also, a growing number of Europeans are not only fed up with those policies, they're fed up with being censored or even criminalized by overbearing woke governments. Europe is at a crossroads, as is the U.S., and Vance went ally hunting for the future.
European countries are careful to not spend too much on their militaries, because they were involved in two massive world wars in their back yard, and are afraid that investing in their militaries too much might cause another fight between nations within Europe. They have also been conditioned by the presence of U.S. troops on their soil to expect the U.S. to help them out with the defense of freedom and democracy, as we did in both world wars. The U.S. in return received the benefit of having a very reliable trading partner, and one that played by "the rules" and respected international laws. Intelligent people do not take that for granted. Europe has actually taken the lead globally for preserving natural resources, which is something that intelligent people can respect. Both the U.S. and Europe have done a poor job of maintaining the peace in the middle east. Both have bought oil from the region and funded some crazy dictators and their armed forces. Europe is doing something about it to become far less dependent on oil and natural gas. The U.S. has only floundered on the issue in recent years, with idiots like Trump proclaiming "drill baby, drill" like only an idiot can. In the long run, as nations start running out of oil and gas (note: Norway recently hit peak oil/gas production in its offshore oil facilities), the U.S. will realize its mistake, but it may be too late. We should have elected someone with some intelligence to be president, instead of a reality show clown.
