The approach appears to be: a) fire as many people as possible; b) assess the impact based on people cheering or booing; c) then do nothing or backfill the roles; and d) finally outsource to a friend of Musk a technology solution contract to reduce the cost.

It’s not a terrible approach if you have a debt-ridden distressed business.

WASHINGTON — National Nuclear Security Administration officials on Friday attempted to notify some employees who had been let go the day before that they are now due to be reinstated — but they struggled to find them because they didn’t have their new contact information.

In an email sent to employees at NNSA and obtained by NBC News, officials wrote, “The termination letters for some NNSA probationary employees are being rescinded, but we do not have a good way to get in touch with those personnel.”

The individuals the letter refers to had been fired on Thursday and lost access to their federal government email accounts. NNSA, which is within the Department of Energy and oversees the nation’s nuclear stockpile, cannot reach these employees directly and is now asking recipients of the email, “Please work with your supervisors to send this information (once you get it) to people’s personal contact emails.”

Trump administration wants to un-fire nuclear safety workers but can’t figure out how to reach them

They are quickly approaching the dumbest administration in history

We will get through this. There might be some temporary pain, like radiation burns and birth defects. But plutonium eventually decays to less radioactive elements. It will get better in time.

The 2024 collection of nimrods blows 2016 out of the water for stupidity. Throw in President Musk and cabinet morons like Kennedy and Gabbard and Hegseth, the administration likely has the lowest IQ in the history of our country.

This is true, the technology has come so far we should really just have AI handle the nuclear arsenal. Absolutely nothing could go wrong.

xAI of course. Ignore the fact that nobody uses it because it is terrible. Musk is jealous of Sam Altman because he built an AI solution that Musk couldn’t.

The only logical thing to do is to have xAI handle the arsenal.

Said it in other posts, Musk's only goal was reducing the number of federal employees. If he and the DOGE boys bothered to audit agencies to determine which positions should be eliminated this would have never happened. Although this a prime example of incompetence I'm sure that members of MAGA nation on this board will defend or at least excuse the termination those employees using the rationale that when one goes big sometimes sh*t happens but it's still worth the price to achieve the larger goal.

Yep,, the end justifies the means. They'll just blame the consequences on the deep state and the dem party.
