The best way to help the economy long term is to cut government spending as a percent of national income.

A $3 ,trillion federal budget with a $400 billion deficit would be better for the economy than a balanced $5 trillion budget.

Think of it this way. You have a stay at home wife with access to all your money. Let's say you're struggling a bit financially but you have access to $22k in cash

Scenario #1. Wife drains $20k from your bank accounts and buys a car. Fully paid for.

Scenario #2. Wife pays $8000 down for a car and owes $3000 more.

Which would you prefer?

 

You're only seeing half of the picture. Your scenarios assume that your income remains the same. The GOP is not only attempting to reduce spending, they are looking to reduce income by more than the amount reduced in spending. They don't care about the national debt

 

It wasn't until three weeks ago the Trump had the power to screw up the economy, explode the deficit and increase inflation. It will take another couple of months before his incompetence really becomes apparent and the question isn't if he tanks the economy but how soon it becomes apparent.

everything it takes in revenue plus whatever else everything it can get away with. Giving the gov',t more and more money doesn't solve the #1 problem which is too much gov't spending, it makes it worse. Elon Musk gets it.
