Claiming the Feds didn't enforce immigration law is nothing new. Again, Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, and others made this claim and passed their own state-wide immigration laws in 2010 when Obama was in office. The ruling? All the states had the power to do was ask about someone's immigration status. And that person still had the right to remain silent.

New York's green law that refuses to state a person's immigration status is not unconstitutional. The state has no right to determine a person's immigration status. And forcing people to put this on a state-issued driver's license would go against the SCOTUS Arizona SB 1070 rulings. It's not the job nor the responsibility of the state to determine immigration status. And not telling the Feds is not actively interfering.

Yeah, I was going to point that out…. How could Bondi not know the difference between criminal “charges” and filing a civil suit…

I salute his integrity. If there wasn't a clear sign that the drop in charges was 100% political, this should remove any doubt. Lifetime republican, refuses to participate int he perversion of justice.

Not only was it payback for licking the boot, it follows the rationale that the DOJ shouldn't charge a politician if he is running for office, ever, and the DOJ expressed that sentiment.

Manhattan US attorney resigns after refusing orders to drop case against New York City Mayor Adams

The top federal prosecutor in Manhattan resigned Thursday after being ordered by the Justice Department to drop corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

The resignation of Danielle Sassoon, a Republican who was the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, was confirmed by a spokesperson for the office.

Pam Bondi - shilling for the criminals, running off lifetime prosecutors who had risen to the top, people of integrity, like she may have been at one time

others also resigned at the Public Integrity Section of the Justice department rather than drop the case.

    MAGA - you proud??

New York's top federal prosecutor steps down amid tension with DOJ over Mayor Adams case - ABC News

On Jan. 31, Sassoon was drawn into a conversation at DOJ headquarters in Washington about the future of the case. The meeting included the mayor's defense attorney, Alex Spiro.

On Monday, acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove sent a memo that told Sassoon, "You are directed, as authorized by the Attorney General, to dismiss the pending charges in United States v. Adams."
    ..........................................................
The Justice Department planned to remove the prosecutors handling the mayor's case and reassign it to the Public Integrity Section in Washington, D.C. However, as soon the Public Integrity Section was informed it would be taking over, John Keller, the acting head of the unit, and his boss, Kevin Driscoll, the senior most career official in the criminal division resigned, according to multiple sources.

I would add that Danielle Sassoon is no liberal. She is most likely a registered Republican. Before she was named Acting US Attorney for the SDNY Sassoon was a career prosecutor. She was one of two Assistant US Attorneys responsible for the successful prosecution of Sam Bankman-Freid the crypto bro who fraudulently screwed investors. She had previously clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia not exactly a liberal justice and she's a member of the Federalist Society, the conservative legal organization responsible for recommending the SCOTUS justices nominated by Trump and confirmed during his first term. Her one transgression was that she put the rule of law over loyalty to Trump by refusing to drop the charges against Eric Adams.

She clearly knows the difference. She was appealing to a willfully ignorant audience including the willfully ignorant reality television star who appointed her to the position of AG.

It wasn't just Danielle Sassoon, the Acting US Attorney who resigned after she refused to drop the charges against Eric Adams as ordered by Emil Bove who then transferred the case to the Public Integrity Section of main DOJ in Washington which then led to the resignation of five more senior DOJ officials who refused to go along with the Trump/Bove stunt of offering Eric Adams the quid pro quo of dropping the charges against him in return for his support of Trump's deportation plan.
Trump DOJ's order to drop Eric Adams case sparks mass resignations

Federal prosecutors in New York and Washington resign after refusing to drop Adams charges
John Keller, the acting head of the Public Integrity Section, refused to drop the case and resigned, two sources said. Three other members of the section also resigned. Kevin Driscoll, the acting head of the department's Criminal Division, which oversees federal criminal cases nationwide, also refused to drop the charges and resigned.

Look at this total bad-ass pull no punches when he tells the Trumpy criminals that he won't be participating in crime with them. And they is pretty much exactly what he was telling them.

Hey MAGA, when you're on the opposite side of guys like this, you can be absolutely certain that you no longer have the slightest shred of patriotism or integrity. But that's just who you are, because it's who you've chosen to be. Sad.

“Any assistant U.S. attorney would know that our laws and traditions do not allow using the prosecutorial power to influence other citizens, much less elected officials, in this way,” Scotten told Bove, who is President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney.

“If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion,” Scotten added. “But it was never going to be me.

Scotten, a Harvard law graduate awarded two bronze stars as a troop commander in Iraq, is a seasoned prosecutor who has handled several corruption cases in New York including three associates of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani. He has also worked on other cases, against Bishop Lamor Whitehead, who is close to Adams and was convicted at trial on multiple counts of fraud. Scotten was also a clerk to Chief Justice John Roberts.

Oregon legalized weed and the feds have not. States are sovereign. If Feds want to pick up immigrants they will have to do it on their own dime

Oregon is ridiculous as the states on the west coast have been californicated. It's illegal aliens who have broken the law, the first of which to be hauled off are the criminals with records and dangerous gang members. It's no wonder why 1/2 of Oregon wants to join Idaho.

Curious, on what grounds do you believe these criminals and gang members should be allowed to stay and be paid for when they came here illegally?

Curious as what statute states that state and local authorities can be deputized and mandated to become enforcers of federal law.
