Spivey posted about it on the paid side last Saturday. I don’t have an access behind the paywall anymore though. The only reason I thought it might be Abdul-Rahim was due to the fact there were rumors of Harris leaving and he has Bama ties.
Bitter pill. Roberts and Harris did not get along supposedly. Damit, just signed an incredible d back class. Man I hope this doesn't cause an exodus in the spring. I'm hearing Seatbelt is probably going to join Harris in Miami.
It was being discussed long before last Saturday. Maybe not by Spivey or the premium side but this was a distinct possibility (losing Coach Harris) we've known about. Since nothing else is more than very strong rumor, that's all that can be said. Sad. I hope we don't see an exodus in the Spring window as I'm sure players have already been "unofficially" contacted by some.
I’d say him and Juluke are the best coaches on the team. Now we have to recruit against the guy. Crazy all around.
And that goes for the Head Coach as well unless they happen to be an alumnus, which isn't often the case. These guys are mercenaries folks, just like me and you.
neither Harris nor assistant db Rasool got along with Roberts. Neither did one more of the d staff who is currently still here. Corey (aka “Silk”) on stadium and gale has been stating for WEEKS that if Roberts is back Harris will be gone. Rasool left last week and Harris yesterday. so while tons of rumors never come true….Silk has been beating this drum for weeks so there was definitely friction between Roberts and Harris/Rasool.
Good position coaches leave programs to advance their career and make more money all the time. If players follow they weren't really committed anyway. We were 83rd in passing yards allowed.
He was leaning towards UM for awhile now. There were rumors about that prior to them even losing their DB coach. Probably has more to do with them signing Armwood kids last cycle.
