Whenever I think of Mike White, I think of the 2017-2018 season. We bring in Egor Koulechov as a transfer and put him with Chiozza, Allen, and Jalen Hudson. In the first 5 games, we hit 100 points 4 times. Sharpshooters and layups off of explosive drives leading to huge point totals and very fun basketball. We have #1 Duke down for the count and he goes into a shell. We lose that game as we stop scoring and aren't good enough to stop Duke from scoring. We proceed to lose the next two games and 3 of the next 4. We never even get to 90 points in a game for the remainder of the season. It was like Mike White sucked the incredible energy out of that team and turned them into his preferred mediocre and boring team.

Yeah, the Oral Roberts game was just too much. We were gradually stretching out the lead by playing our game and dictating, then Mike shuts it down. One possession turned the game around. Our guys hold the ball, hold the ball, hold the ball, then throw up a prayer as the shot clock expires. Long rebound, ORU runs it down the court, makes a transition 3, and IIRC, gets fouled, to make it a 4-point play. Suddenly the game is back in question and we let an inferior team take it from us.
There's a right time to start running some clock. Ya gotta understand down-and-distance-and-time-remaining. CMW always took his foot off the pedal way too early. Almost cost us the Sweet 16 game over Wisconsin.

No. Cause Muschamp knew what the midline was. Have you ever heard of the midline?

That was also the point when I was done and realized he had to go. He singlehandedly lost that game for us.

I still like the man. I do wish he would find a way to get over his hump. I don't care he is the coach of UGa, except when he plays us. Otherwise, if he got to 6th-8th in the conference I would not complain.

But yeah, it seems he is his own worse enemy.

    Seriously -

Have any of you folks watched a Mike White presser recently? Just compare his appearance now as to when he was a Gator.

Something seems a bit off. Of course it's a pressure cooker of a job. I don't wish anything but good things for him unless he is competing or recruiting against the Gators.

There is plenty to like about Mike White. By all accounts, he's a good man. I supported him too, but recognized just a bit before he departed that it needed to happen. I wish him well in his future, but would like to see that at a place other than UGA. Good for us that coach TFG has brought an exciting brand of basketball that wins.

Agree. I think had he gone to Iowa or Texas Tech or even Vandy, it would be easy to root for him. Instead ... [IMG]

Mike White's team is actually pretty darned good this season. He just had the rotten luck to be in an historically powerful SEC. All that aside, they're still likely to make the NCAAT.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Here’s his remaining schedule. As bad as he has been on the road, it wouldn’t surprise me if they lost the majority of these games. Of course you never know. We’ll see.

CMW had the best in-bounds plays I've ever seen at UF, so give him that. However, in the last couple of games, CTG has had some really clever in-bounds plays called. Loved seeing them.
