Great win again all the way around.

 

The first inning pretty much sealed the game. Taylor Shumaker is just incredible. 2-2 with a BB, another HR and to see Rylee Holtorf get the grand slam was great. I was not impressed with Kara Hammock, however. You can't give up that many free passes and beat quality teams. She's got good stuff, but without being able to control her pitches, she's not going to help much in SEC games. Look at Ava Brown. She's definitely improved her control over last year and so far has been excellent in the circle. Last year she had 68 K's and 58 BB. 3.59 ERA, but should have been much lower except for the free passes she gave up that came around to score. She was good last year as a true freshman, but looks like she's made a significant jump her her pitching skills from year 1 to year 2. Hammock is a senior and should have better mastery of her pitches by now. Anyway, probably nitpicking 7-0, but iif we're wanting championships, there can't be any weaknesses in your team.

 

I agree. Hammock seems to have good stuff, but she def needs to work on her control and needs to command her pitches better. I believe she can do it. Hopefully Oxley comes back before SEC play, because pitching at A&M for her first start will not be light. Hoping she comes back for the Florida invitational or the game at Houston. Also, shoutout to Brooke for catching.
