Trumps proposal for Palestinians

Didn’t see a front page thread on this, surprised.

Does America really want to be the face of this? Displacing 2.1 million Palestinians. Is Israel okay with US taking over land they claim? Giving the pro Palestine factions a big American target in their backyard to suicide bomb? I remember the Trump family, maybe Don Jr., talking about how valuable Gaza could be… are they really going to do this to grab the Trumps some prime real estate?

I hope this is just another one of Trumps dumb ass ideas that vaporizes, because I don’t want American territory anywhere near that Middle East shit show…

So what Trump is saying is the United States is going to annex Gaza? Who thinks this is going to end well? I smell a lot of dead U.S. military in the future.

It would be an absolute disaster… and give terrorists world wide a valid reason to kill Americans.

 

No he’s saving the camps with their gas chambers and crematoriums for Latinos and the anglos who defend them.

 

Even if he convinces Jordan and Egypt to take Palestinians this is going to end so badly and the blowback will be absolutely enormous. We just got out of the Middle East area…why would we go back in?

He won't. For good reason, they don't want them. And why should they be forced to take them anyway? Ironically, pushing them all into Jordan could create the very Palestinian state Israel fears/loathes so much. It's already 70% Palestinian.

And I think that’s part of my point…who in their right mind would want to go vacation there? It’s essentially been a war zone for my entire life and will continue to be a war zone far into the future! Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should do it. North Korea opening up one of their cities for tourism is a prime example…who in their right mind would go visit North Korea at this point!?

Trump says he could withhold aid from Jordan and Egypt if they reject his Gaza plan

The Trump administration is gearing up for potentially contentious meetings with Arab power players this week as President Donald Trump continues to press his plan for what he calls U.S. "ownership" of Gaza, going so far as to threaten cutting off U.S. aid to Jordan and Egypt if they don't go along.

On Tuesday, Jordan's King Abdullah is scheduled to meet with Trump at the White House, becoming the first Arab leader to do since he returned to power last month.

Jordan has served as a humanitarian lifeline for civilians in Gaza throughout the Israel-Hamas conflict and already hosts millions of registered Palestinian refugees.

But Trump's plan for rebuilding Gaza calls for the country, as well as Egypt, to take in close to 2 million more Palestinians he says can be removed from Gaza so that the war-torn land can be transformed into what he calls "the Riviera of the Middle East" under his watch.

 

Threatening Arab states may just drive them into the arms of China or Russia. That is clearly not in our interests, but here we are.

So, Trump met with the Jordanian king today. The gist:

“We’re going to take it, we’re going to hold it, we’re going to cherish it,” he told reporters. Asked how the United States would claim the Palestinian territory, Trump cited “U.S. authority.”
