    Although President Donald Trump agreed to pause his new tariffs on imports from Canada, the damage to the relationship between the neighboring countries has already been done.

    A patriotic wave is moving over Canada as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau continues to urge the Canadian people to “choose Canada.”

    “I’ve never seen this kind of patriotic movement, I moved to Canada 13 years ago, I’ve never seen this kind of bond as Canadians and doing something good for our country and the Canadian economy,” College of New Caledonia Tourism Instructor Dooseon Jung told Northern British Columbia’s CKPGToday. “That kind of movement is impacting our travel behaviours as a Canadian as well, and you will see probably more on this if this situation is going to be uncertain for a while.”

    The new movement could lead to huge economic losses for the United States. Canada is the top source of international visitors to the U.S., and even a 10% reduction in Canadian travel to the U.S. could translate to $2.1 billion in lost spending and 14,000 job losses, according to the U.S. Travel Association.

    anecdotally - my 21 year old daughter who lives in London and works as a PT in their healthcare system has been encouraged to tell people she is Canadian as an anti-american wave sweeps across much of Europe as the skidmark contineus to alienate our allies and Musk pushes misinformation and hate into their political system..

    my neighbors across the Street are Canadians. I saw a Uhaul outside of their house yesterday...went out to joke about not leaving....they were bringing back stuff from their Steamboat place due to water damage & work that needs done there.

    What borders on stupidity?



    a. Mexico & Canada.

    You mean they won’t infiltrate restaurants at 4:00 for early bird specials and order water and lemons so they can make table lemonade?

    No, they won't visit because we have a glass bowl of a president, who blew up his own trade agreement in favor of punitive tariffs for God only knows what reason.

    Not a fan of this mentality. As somebody who has traveled a lot, you should have taught your daughter that it's wrong for a people to judge others based on the government that rules their country. Likewise, you shouldn't cater to such ridiculous ideas. It's one of the things we get very wrong in this country (typically by folks who have never traveled to other countries). In fairness, if it's a matter of personal security, that's different, but then why would you choose to be in such a place?

    she knows that. she also knows she can't change the patients mind and she can't be effective if they harbor an inane bias. to criticize without understanding the intent and purpose is premature at best. we must have done something right if she was able to move to London and put herself through PT school at one of the best PT schools in the UK after turning down med school. or maybe we just got lucky
