Redemption is a beautiful thing. Whatever his final degree of success may be, I'm happy for him and for BN for giving him the opportunity plus the structure/discipline to grow into his talent. No one knows precisely what the future holds for CM at UF, but things are definitely looking up.
That's some real definition, I hope it translates to his power, performance and aggressiveness on the football field.
His strong suit is as a cover corner. He has the ability as a premier pass defender. His lesser ability, due to a slender physique, is as an open field field tackler. That takes a special brand of courage and durability. But, C has a true feeling for space, cutoff angles etc..and THAT is a unique part of being an effective tackler in space. Not all can do it. This could be exciting to see. He has already the abilities that are harder to teach. He is working on the parts of his game that is especially gained by daily repetitions and are highly teachable…physical growth.
Gator Nation would be delighted to see Cormani emerge as the talent that made him one of the highest ranked players in the country in H.S.
We finished the year with some very solid bend but don't break to finish out the year. Primarily because we were very efficient in the redzone. Hopefully next year we can have more opportunities to but CM on an island so he can showoff his man coverage skills. Apparently, he was routinely picking off multiple passes in practice sessions throughout the season.
S..I don’t know as the official roster won’t be upgraded until the start of spring practice. Jmhfo…he will be 180 in the spring.
After hearing that CM was on scholarship and apparently has picked up some good weight, I'm reminded of the skepticism I felt about the wisdom of bringing him back for another shot. Like some others, I felt burned and disrespected by the way things went down in CM's initial recruitment and I was quite leery, particularly at first. But it is now time to give some credit where it's due. Billy did an exceptional thing in re-engaging with CM and family, but on what has so far proven to be some very well-reasoned terms. I now believe Billy's conduct in this matter has been the wise and genuinely decent thing to do. For whatever reason, it seems that after going through the mill a bit, CM and co came back to the reality of the situation. A new start with real rules and some great teammates seems to be agreeing with the young man. Sounds a little like God's beginning to smile on the Gators again.
Have to give credit where it's due. Cormani has all the physical tools to be an elite DB. If Billy can get this kid's head on straight, that's a huge credit to both of them.
The kid is flat out talented and carried a high first round grade out of HS. He has 2-3 years to put it together and become the player that warrants that first round grade/money. Apparently the light has come on for him and he is working hard on becoming that person and not acting like the entitled athlete out of high school. Kudos to him for growing up and making hard but correct decisions. Now if he can pick off Georgias QB 3 times in our game this year that would be great.
I expected a pic of a buffet, but he is staring down what looks like a T-bar. To compensate I will hit up a buffet on his behalf.
He played last season at 175, if he focuses on gaining strength, speed and hitting all of his goals the coaches have for him in the off season he should add some good weight to his 6' 1.5" frame.
