Ashton has been on fire at the plate (he had three hits from the few innings I was there on Saturday plus the two from this outing), crazy to think he’s our fifth outfielder. I know we’ll see completely different line ups each game this weekend but I’m really interested to see where we’ve settled on our starting 9 come April/May.

Me too! It’ll take the whole season to wash the vision of that awful half time show out of my mind…

I believe the starting lineup is fairly well settled, I couldn't be more pleased at the competition for playing time. Wilson, Stripling and Brookens had a good weekend, Brookens in particular had at least six hits on Saturday and Sunday, including a 3-run HR and a double and at least 4 RBI and 3 runs. Stripling hit some warning track fly outs, but at least one got out.

While Peterson and Barlow each had a bad inning on the weekend, the staff battled pretty well, especially Clemente, and this team's young pitchers seem far ahead of last year's class at this point.
