How much of the value of the home was paid for by the taxpayers? Sometimes, something called context is important. Your statement is the equivalent of yelling "squirrel!" when the argument is going against you.
Yes, I am well aware after retiring as an Army general, Lloyd Austin took a job with a private defense contractor and was compensated handsomely as a result. You know, the same thing that Elizabeth Warren tried to get Pete Hegseth to agree he wouldn’t do.
Probably just about all of it, considering he accumulated his wealth via his role in the military, and even more so working for a defense contractor after he retired from the Army. Want to know something crazy? Defense contractors are paid by the United States government.
Are you saying the guy is corrupt because of his “baller house”? I’m just not sure I’m getting your point in deflecting to his personal residence. Should one of the highest rated officers in our military live in a trailer park? Seems his net worth is around $7 million as a 71 year old. So that house represents roughly half his wealth. Hegseth at 44 reportedly has a net worth of $17 million (I guess delivering fake newz pays a lot better than military) and for some reason wants the govt to house him despite this.
I said nothing of the sort, Mr. Strawman. Military housing comes with stricter rules and regulations regarding maintenance, modifications and guest policies compared to civilian housing. As the new secretary of defense, it is probably important for Mr. Hegseth to set the example in maintaining his military housing to the utmost standard. Here's the kicker: Pete Hegseth will not own the house. While he will indeed be living there rent free, it is not like he is going to be able to sell the home and reap proceeds from the upgrades. Consider for a moment how utterly ridiculous you're behaving. This is what TDS does to a person.
This was an interesting decision that I didn't expect but seems reasonable. They're going back to calling it Fort Bragg - however, not to honor Confederate Braxton Bragg but rather a Pfc named Roland L. Bragg - a paratrooper from Maine who earned awards for his service in the Battle of the Bulge. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth Renames Fort Liberty to Fort Roland L. Bragg > U.S. Department of Defense > Release
They went Woke!!!!! lol. Cowards are too scared to really name it for a confederate general. They love their racism just barely under the covers where you can still see it clearly.
Speaking of Pete Seems a bunch of people ( in media and on here) made some false claims… nothing new though. Hegseth didn't request over $137,000 in upgrades to his new military residence, official says
Yepper .... that was jus another case of lies from the left to denigrate a veteran. Many of the tofu-eating wokerati are just pathetic.
There is a right way to get money from a job (i.e., salary, bonuses, etc.) and a wrong way to get money from a job (bribes, kickbacks, etc.). There is nothing wrong with buying a house with money earned from salary and bonuses. Insinuating that someone is on the take or stealing from the nation when he may not be is called "slander", which is something that grownups do not aspire to.
Hegseth brings along an advisor on his overseas trips. His name is Jack Posobiec. Posobiec is known for associating with white nationalists and was an important figure in the spread of "Pizzagate" lies, and he promoted the phrase "white boy summer". Apparently, he's there to provide ammunition for Hegseth to fight diversity in the U.S. military. And one of his goals is to "end democracy". Sounds like a real winner . . . Hegseth team's reported travel invite to extremist sends clear message to military
Hegseth achieves something on a trip to Germany that few Secretaries of Defense have ever experienced: heckling, derision, and protests from military families overseas. And that was the HIGHLIGHT of his trip to Germany. Apparently, the soldiers' families are not happy with the fact that Hegseth is unqualified to be Sec'y of Defense, and is making epic blunders left and right. Maddow Blog | Pete Hegseth’s tenure at the Pentagon goes from bad to worse Hegseth tried to backpedal on his idiotic statements that Ukraine would not be allowed into NATO and Russia would definitely be allowed to keep lands in Ukraine that they had captured (as his opening line for negotiations with Russia). Let's see if he was successful . . . Nope. Dumber than ever. It's almost like a Fox News reporter is serving as Secretary of Defense.
Confirm a clown, get a circus. The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans So the DOD and NSA is using Signal to talk about war plans, and they can't even get the people on the chat correct. Remember when a private email server was the worst thing that ever happened? Now, we have the Trump people texting war plans on private text chains, and can't even figure out who is supposed to be on the chat.
