The computers may indeed say that.

Human voters on the other hand tend to want to shuffle things around. So it’s hard to see ‘Bama not sliding up to #1 or giving us at least some bump. Wouldn’t be shocking to see AU retain #2 or #3 with us right behind them. If we stayed at #6 that would be some bs though.

well, we're 1 of only 5 to beat two #1, I would have to think we'd be the only team to beat three if / when we do

Auburn shouldn’t move at all. They have 12 Q1 wins. That’s four more than the next most.

Two wins over #1 ranked teams, a 20-3 record, which is better than teams ranked above us, and minimal respect by the polls. MOTIVATION!!!

I am more concerned about how we do against a very good MSU team on Tuesday than I am about where we are in the Monday polls.

As long as we get a 1 or 2 seed in the tournament, we are good. If Haugh and Condon play like they did Saturday in the tournament, we’re going to go a long way. The guards are not an issue obviously but our inside play could be key. Add chinyelu in for some tough defense.

I'd like to see Chinyelu or Condon become a little be more reliable on shots in the paint. I still feel surprised when they go in.

Bingo. Take care of business and the seeding will sort itself. Next game is the only one that matters.

Seems to be a theme for college big men. Broome who is a lot of peoples favorite for player of the year missed 4 under the basket against UF. If they are good around the rim they only last a year before the NBA comes calling sadly.

You had to feel good about our prospects when it was confirmed Clayton was coming back, along with Richard and Aberdeen, and that we’d get year 2 bump from Condon and Haugh. That’s a solid core before getting into transfer portal (which Golden has excelled at).

However it’s not like there weren’t question marks (Pullen and Samuel were big shoes to fill). I was thinking 5 seed was a good prediction/goal pre-season. Definitely wouldn’t have guessed in the hunt for a 1.

This. Huge challenge against Murphy, Matthews, Hubbard and Kugel on their court after listening to how great we are for a few days. Hopefully Todd has them re-focused.

This is a game I would have rather had on Wednesday. A quick turnaround after an emotional road game Saturday, then a cup of coffee and back on the road again.

Don't forget Big Sam, He hit a three at Auburn, made good moves going to the basket, defense, blocks and rebounds. He is starting to perform like we all hoped. I think Rueben can finish inside against anybody and he is a tough physical presence to get by for anyone he guards. All four bigs know their roles and hopefully keep improving.

Auburns resume being "better" is questionable.
They struggled against Texas and UGA. Teams we blew out.

And we have two better wins than they do and they havent played UK yet.

I honestly think our resume is better. Houston and Iowa State are good wins for them (from weaker conferences) but neither of their top 2 wins are better than our top two wins.

But their biggest are mostly OOC against teams padding their rank in weaker conferences.

They avoid playing at Tennessee this year and havent had their trip to Rupp yet.

4 of their last 7 games are against top 14 teams, and another top 25 team.

I mean, I agree that some of their OOC wins are overrated (Memphis and Houston in particular) but I don't know...

Against currently ranked teams (maybe not a perfect metric but not horrible), they're 8-2. Florida is 2-3. They've played a stronger schedule, have significantly more ranked/Q1 wins AND have a better overall record.

I'm certainly open to Florida being a better team than Auburn. I just don't think the resume's favor UF.
