why do you find this bizarre? If there are facilities that require a clearance higher than what you have then you cant go there. This isn't limited to the head of SpaceX, its common with many companies.

Surprise, surprise. Musk over promising and under delivering? Never heard of that before.

Whoops. Gave up before even starting. MAGA will hold Trump and Elon 100% responsible for this failure. Oh, wait. MAGA doesn’t care whether white men keep their promises or not. it’s good enough they look and sound good making the promises.

So who runs DOGE now? Just Elon? That might be for the best anyway.

Leaving a make believe agency that had duplicate leaders is actually pretty efficient. Good for him.

Apparently being nominated for Secretary of Defense absolves one of the need to pinch pennies. Hegseth is demanding $50k just to update the paint on his new residence, plus another $87k in "repairs". Hegseth has declared an emergency to justify the spending, making the DOGE function as "financial efficiency for everyone else". What is he getting, gold leaf siding and solid gold toilets?

The rank-and-file members of the military are expected to continue living in their crumbling, ratty, moldy, lead-paint-coated death traps.

Another humiliation for Trump, exposed once again as a fraud.

Well I haven't investigated the claim, but if this is true he did request the government pay for painting and repairing his house.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is looking to live in military family housing and requested to use $137,000 in taxpayer funding for repairs -- including nearly $50,000 for an "emergency" paint job -- a pair of top Democratic lawmakers said in a letter Friday demanding more details.

$50,000 for paint and $127k for repairs, must be one of those baller homes the govt has in military housing.

Aside from his apparantly Ben Carson like redecorating budget. Seems odd/hypocritical he’d even want to live in govt housing. Particularly considering he’s in a civilian role and no particular reason for him to be in military housing.
