How high do we rise?? Post auburn beat down

    You can make an argument we should be number 1 but we won’t be. We now have the best win in the country by far on our resume!! Auburn hadn’t lost at home in I think in 3 or 4 years. Tennessee at home was probably a top 5 overall victory on the season so we have 2 of the best wins this season so far.

    I say we climb to number 3. I will disappointed if they keep us behind Tennessee and although being behind Auburn doesn’t make much sense given how we thumped them at home without our second best player, I can’t see them dropping a 2 loss Auburn behind a 3 loss Florida team.

    I think the 20 point loss to UT is too big of a loss to ignore. But yeah, we beat them head to head on their court by 9 and we were up by 20 at one point in the second half so we should be 2 but I bet we are 3 or 4. Which is fine. On our way to a number 1 seed in the tourney.

    Depends on other results today. Assuming Bama and Duke win today, I think UF only goes up to #5. Bama had the #1 or #2 SOS* coming into the weekend, so I don't think the polls will drop them below their current #3 spot without a loss. I would argue today's win should vault UF above Tennessee at #4, but I doubt the pollsters will do that especially after beating UF short-handed a week ago.

    *If its not #1 now it will finish that way. Look at Bama's schedule from 15-Feb onwards: 7 straight against currently ranked teams, including Auburn twice.

    If Alabama becomes #1 and we beat them that will make 3 #1s taken down in a single season by a single team. Surely there's a record on this?

    Should jump Houston and Tennessee, but that’s probably it. I think if Duke loses Auburn stays 1, Alabama jumps to 2, Duke falls to 3, we go to 4, Tennessee falls to 5.

    Just keep winning. I don’t care where we’re ranked preseason, early season, mid season, just after it’s over.

    If Tennessee rose up from 8 to 4 going 1-1 last week. Florida should be 2! Stomping number 1 in their building without a starter and beating a good Vandy team midweek!

    By resume Auburn is still #1, their quality win list is crazy. If we had won at Tennessee I think we’d have a much better argument.

    I think in no way do we jump to 1. But we should move up pretty decently with Dukes loss.
