I'm so excited Trump is doing so many things to bring down the price of groceries as he promised to do on day 1!

What exactly IS it you drive to the ocean to throw directly into it?

I mean I can't say I know a single person that does that, with anything, including Republicans.

I think there may be a slightly more complex idea.

A lot of places by me on the west coast have gone the way of veggie based plastic straws that are biodegradable. I’m in favor of them. They don’t get soggy like paper (feel like plastic with a slightly less smooth texture) and they biodegrade in a matter of 2-5 years instead of thousands(?). I’m with @tilly that it was completely overblown but if there’s a solution that works without the downsides I think we should take it.

So much winning by Donald. Is he actually going to sign an EO that actually helps the American people or is he just going to continue with the performance art for his (mostly) low IQ base?

I'd like some more EOs based on Obama era conservative obsessions, maybe he can ban Obama phones, tan suits or order a Jade Helm investigation. Maybe rerun Fast and Furious and Benghazi.

Well he has that anti-Christian bias thing going for him to please the “Born Again” Christian conservative crowd. Of course liberals find that useless since we got being born right the first time.

They live in the water, why do they even need a straw?

Isolated events are not good examples. Of course that happens. Sea turtles sadly get hit by boats, but we dont ban them.

The data is showing that in some cases the paper straws are worse for the environment.

And we also know that most ocean pollution is cause by non American instances (which it sounds like your video may indicate). I clearly said "American" in my post.

This is a money grab with very little if any evidence to back it up.

That's my point, not the plastic vs. paper debate. Rather, why is Trump micromanaging to this extent? With an Executive Order? Raise your hand if you think it's because he's an attention addict, and simply sending a memo, or making a quiet call behind the scenes, wouldn't satisfy his pathological need for self-promotion.

    Bottom of a pint glass
I was somewhere recently that had pasta straws. I didn't hate them but I'm not a normal straw user

“To own the libs”. So much of maga’s platform is upsetting anyone non-maga. It’s a reason maga supports anything damaging the environment - because it “owns the libs”.

But this straw thing isn’t a hill non- maga need to die on. Trump will do far more permanent damage to our environment than straws. Jeesk he just emptied that reservoir in cali. That helped no one other than a brief photo op for him to post.
