The #5 Gators opened their season today in Baltimore vs. #11 Johns Hopkins. In a very tight match that was tied 6-6 at halftime, the Gators fell behiund in the 4th quarter, but scored 3 goals in the last 3:21, the go-ahead goal with 18 seconds left, to win 12-11. Johns Hopkins outshot Florida 37-19 and beat them in draw controls 15-7. But Gator goaltender Georgia Hoey had 10 saves to keep the Gators in the match and allow them to pull it out in the end. Forgot the season opener. The offense will be work in progress as we lost a ton of goal production to graduation. Go Gators
Yep - Gator lacrosse started in 2010. We won the now defunct American Lacrosse Conference in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014. Then we joined the Big East and won it in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018. The came the American Athletic Conference, which we won in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2024. In 2023 we finished 2nd. Incredible consistent for Amanda O'Leary's teams.
