The keys to the season for me are the improvements of Keagan, Mia, and Ava. If Rothrock can improve her strike-out ability from last year and if Mia and Ava can give us 10ish HRs with a decent average from the bottom of the lineup, this team is going to be tough to beat. All three look great from a physical standpoint.
Bottom of the 4th, Falby walks, goes to 2nd on a ground out, 3rd on a wild pitch amd scores on a wild pitch. 6-0 Gators. Then with 2 outs, Erickson walks and Reagan Walsh hits a monster HR over the CF camerman. UF 8-0. Kenleigh Cahalan then doubles, then Ava flies out to CF to end the inning. 3 more outs and we get a run rule win.
I think both Ava and Mia could push 20hr. Expect Keagan’s strike outs to go up and hopefully she won’t be carrying the entire load this season.
Ava Brown gets 3 straight outs in the top of the 5th, 2 via K, to clinch the run-rule win for the Gators. Excellent start to a long season. Go Gators!!
BTW...Jordy Bahl is throwing against Tennessee in the NFCA tournament. Live on Gamechanger. 0-0 after three and she has given up one hit and struck out three. She, at least, makes watching Nebraska softball palatable.
Tennessee up 1-0 because the Nebraska infield/outfield can't track down a pop fly that goes for a hit and earned run against Bahl. She has given three hits and struck out 6 through 4.
This is way off-topic but it deserves something after 34 years. Mary Wise has announced her retirement.
Same I do not trust him, I hope he goes with the associate head coach Dave booth, he seems to be really liked by the players. If Stricklin goes another way and loses players to the portal, it is on him.
Agree. I honestly don't know enough about Dave coaching wise but it's better than Stricklin making a hire.
For anyone heading out to Phoenix to watch the Gators at the ASU/GCU tourney, the Gators are practicing at Sandra Day O’Connor HS (Jocey’s and Riley’s HS) on Thursday at 1:00pm and it’s an open practice.
