NEVER devalue the worth of good kickers. I know they are not glamorous or super physical, but flipping the field and making the FG's late, is so very important.
Don't forget about John James. He punted for 13 years in the NFL and was a 3 time pro-bowler. Most ppl probably forget about him because he played for some lousy teams: Falcons, Lions, and Oilers.
A great kicker can damn sure be the difference between winning a national championship or not. I just like to have another player or two on that list.
I knew him through my older brother, who both were Sigma Chi fraternity brothers. He was trying out for the Gators one late summer, I had punted some in high school, we got together and went out to a practice field and tried to out kick each other, LOL. He was tall and could kick wobblers high, sometimes end over end, but the hang time got him on the team. Consistency.
