A Mike White castoff named Andrew Nembhard was just named the January Defensive Player of the Month for the NBA's Eastern Division.

Nobody would have thought that possible when he was here. Good for him.

Could that have something to do with his coach at the time?

I think it was his perceived lack of athleticism and inability to stay in front of quicker guards. He looks more athletic now than he did in college.

He looked plenty athletic at Gonzaga and, before UF, at Montverde.

Kasey Hill was very athletic but couldn't hit free throws.

Casey had several flaws in his game. Unfortunately, he did not improve at all during his three years playing for Mike White. He was a tremendous athlete, but your game can’t be just full speed attacking the rim, rather than playing at multiple speeds getting in the paint, drawing defenders, kicking off to teammates, etc.

Not going to disagree. Kasey was far more athletic and probably a better defender but AN was a more skillful player and had a better overall game. One guy was a superior athlete and the other guy was a better basketball player.

If Kasey would have hit all his layups he would have been an All American. I honestly think he shot close to 50% at the rim.
