Right. Tesla was the only electric vehicle company that didn’t qualify for federal grants. Why is that?
This is patently false. The Models 3, Y, X and the Semi all qualified in 2024. Why are you intentionally spreading falsehoods?
The original way those credits worked was they’d be phased out once a make reaches a certain # of models sold. So over the years I think some models dropped off or there was some confusion about what qualifies or not. The credits were going away entirely at one point, but the Inflation Reduction Act put them back on. But the “new confusion” is that now it can only be applied to cars with a certain % of U.S. components. I’ve read that some of the same model of Tesla’s are eligible and some aren’t, just based on where it’s battery came from.
U.S. Attorney Launches Investigation As DOGE Employees Face Imminent Threats "Our initial review of the evidence presented to us indicates that certain individuals and/or groups have committed acts that appear to violate the law in targeting DOGE employees," (Edward) Martin stated. He further assured that collaboration with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies is underway to address the situation swiftly, with prosecutors already preparing for potential legal action. According to The Post Millennial, Martin refrained from naming any specific individuals or groups involved but indicated that arrests are anticipated. This announcement follows a prior communication from Martin to Elon Musk, emphasizing that threats against DOGE personnel will not be tolerated. "I recognize that some of the staff at DOGE has been targeted publicly. At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers," Martin wrote, highlighting the potential legal implications of such threats. Martin's firm stance reflects a broader commitment to safeguarding government employees, contrasting with what he described as the previous administration's leniency towards rioters. "Let me assure you of this: we will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people," he declared, underscoring a zero-tolerance policy for any actions that disrupt the department's operations. The targeting of DOGE employees emerged after the department accessed the U.S. Treasury's federal payment system, leading to the public dissemination of their information. Notably, Wired reporters tweeted a list of DOGE employees, prompting threats against them. In response, Elon Musk took to X, denouncing the act of posting employee names as a criminal offense, reinforcing the need for accountability and protection of government workers.
Why don't you tell us? Are you seriously claiming that Tesla hasn't received billions of taxpayer dollars?
We can target you but our identities are top secret..smdh at people trying to defend the skidmark and his fellow turds
DOGE cancels $8.2 million government payments to Politico Left-leaning news outlet Politico was paid a staggering $8.2 million in 'government subsidies' uncovered amid Elon Musk's DOGE dragnet on wasteful spending. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is in the process of cancelling the payments from several government agencies, including the embattled USAID. + It could spell further disaster for Politico, whose staffers yesterday found out that they had not been paid. The outlet stated that the missed payments were due to a 'technical issue', however speculation quickly began to swirl that the crackdown on public spending was to blame.
That's chump change. Let's get rid of all federal government health care programs. That will save over $2 trillion per year.
Let me preface my post by making it clear that I am not saying that you are a moron for reposting a moronic post. That being said, there was never a proposal to hire 87,000 IRS agents. The proposal was to hire that number or thereabouts of new employees to fill a variety of positions at the IRS over a 10-year period, with most of those hires replacing retired employees. Only a fraction of the new hires would be IRS agents. As an aside, does it concern you at all that about a trillion dollars of federal taxes go unpaid each year? That bugs the shit out of me because I pay my taxes every year.
DOGE going after Medicare fraud. This one has been on my personal list of hopes for DOGE. Wonder if he got Rick Scott to help his team? “Representatives of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have been working at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where they have gotten access to key payment and contracting systems, according to people familiar with the matter. The DOGE representatives have been on site at the agency’s offices this week, the people said, and they are looking at the systems’ technology as well as the spending that flows through them, with a focus on pinpointing what they consider fraud or waste. DOGE representatives are also examining the agency’s organizational design and how it is staffed, the people added.White House and DOGE officials didn’t comment. Musk, on his X platform, posted: “Yeah, this is where the big money fraud is happening,” referring to the Medicare agency in a repost of another user who referenced the Journal’s reporting. One of the systems accessed by the DOGE representatives is CALM, or the CMS Acquisition Lifecycle Management system, which includes information about contracts, according to people with knowledge of the matter.“ https://www.wsj.com/politics/elon-m...7b162?st=UCnxMt&reflink=article_copyURL_share
Ah, the excel spreadsheet of savings. You know the cuts are real when excel can sum them. Show me a balanced budget or just a reduced deficit and tax cuts, then we can celebrate.
It’s basically what Darrel Issa used to do. I’d say about half the stuff was actually ridiculous, and the other half was probably legit research. But the totals of waste they pointed out never amounted to much. Wouldn’t even cover Rick Scott’s Medicare fraud or a drop in the bucket compared to waste and graft around defense contracts. A favorite target of theirs were studies involving fruitflies. I remember that frequently comes up in govt waste reports. Apparantly a lot of biomedical stuff involves fruit flies. As I’m not a biomedical researcher I have no friggen clue why fruitflies produce interesting research in that field and I don’t care to delve deeply into it. But all it takes is a quick Google search to at least avoid looking like a moron with the “hurr durr, wE wAsTeD $3 mIlLiOn studyin’ them flies”.
