God intervening to save Trump is pretty powerful until you compare it to how God stopped all the would-be Biden killers and took the additional step of not killing anyone else around. But I suppose there is a reason for His preference of Biden, who knows.

Also a little crappy to require an hour of sleep. I mean, pretty petty. Doesn't need sleep, but going to get put down anyway. Like a Kindergartner.

    "I'm not tired!!"

"Nah bro, grab Blankey and here's your Sudafed Sippy Cup. Mama needs her MeTime."

God believes in electoralism now, no more floods and smiting to achieve his preferred outcomes. That's real growth from biblical times.

Theology matters a lot here. Jesus died on the cross because He was the only one among us who was not a crappy human being when compared to God’s perfect righteousness. So, God is just in providentially bringing about any death because all have sinned and have become defiled by their sin. The thing to marvel at here is all of the instances of God’s mercy, none of which we have ever done anything to merit by our own righteousness.

Believe it or not, if you are a Christian redeemed by the blood of Christ with a proper understanding of your own sin, that undeserved mercy of redemption should be a greater marvel and mystery than Trump surviving a bullet and being made President.

Never mind the fact that posting "God" on GC is pretty much guaranteed to tag every speeding bullet to the muzzle of the "God Gun".

    It's still good reading.

If a bullet clipped my ear I might believe God helped me out, but I probably wouldn't tell Dana White.

    Trump is the freaking antichrist.

Rev 13:3 ... And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. NKJV

Except a bias for Trump supporters. They think God chose a vile human to save them from wokeness. I mean, last time he chose a perfect man and this time he chose an unrepentant pu88y grabber. Just makes so much sense.

God could just make the bullet never get fired. Then two people would still be alive.

We have to stop twisting God into our narrative.

Of course not. We should however stop twisting them to fit our narrative.

    Yay!

God spared the ungodly guy that I like by making the bullet kill a fireman in front of his family!

    Yay!

    It borders on blasphemy frankly.

Rewriting history is not my thing. Someone took a shot at our POTUS, and that is a fact.

If you want to say that the shooter missed NOT by the grace of GOD, that's fine, it's your opinion. I just choose to believe it is...

Absolutely. But we are making claims with no merit.

This may in fact just be a sad case of rain falling on the just and the unjust.

In this case Trump being the unjust and the fireman possibly being "just".

But when some of God's people hitch their wagon to an evil king they have no choice but to try and paint God into their own corner.

    Absolutely understand the pov.
Personally I believe it stems from Christians doing this historically.

Biblically God generally protected the ones who sought after Him and followed his will.

    Some verses on the topic:

    Daniel 6:22
My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”

Nahum 1:7 tells us his protection comes to those who seek it:
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in him.

So while I believe the rain falls on the just and the unjust, i believe the active protection of God isnt really being exercised for guys like Trump. He meets none of the above criteria.
