I think their asking for asylum was coached by joey's people and can be reversed

TPS isn't asylum. They are two legally distinct forms of migration, both legal, it should be noted. Would you like to try again to answer the question of how they are illegal?

It's more accurate to describe the decision by Trump, Stephen Miller and Tom Homan (Noem was nothing more than the mouthpiece for their decision) as the revocation of temporary legal status for Venezuelans. Somewhat ironic that Trump wants to send back refugees from a failed dysfunctional Marxist dictatorship back to their homeland while to trying foist a much larger number of Palestinian refugees from Gaza on Jordan and Egypt.

And yet, you can't say why they are "illegal." Seems like you are not using the word "illegal" to describe people that are not legally residents. So who are you using it to describe?

based upon the ruling by Noem, they were considered to be here illegally because this was joey's way around Trump sending people home

Somewhat ironic that their situation isn't that much different than that of the Cubans who were fleeing the dysfunctional Marxist dictatorship on their home island in the period from the 1960s through the 1990. The Cubans unlike the Venezuelans of today were welcomed into the US. Said it in another post if there was still a Soviet Union and Venezuela was aligned with it the Venezuelans who fled their country would automatically be granted asylum. They would even have to go through the process of applying. By the way you think any of the wealthy Venezuelans who flew into South Florida as tourists and overstayed their visas are among those being deported? Although they're just as illegal as the ones whose TPT status is being revoked my guess is very few if any.

Says the guy who lost the plot between reading the post and posting his reply. WTF are YOU talking about? Would you like to address the topic, or just ramble on with more nonsensical wasting of everyone's time?

If you care (which you don't, because you're too busy waving your pom poms) VA just spelled it out for you.

That is false. They are not here illegally. She is revoking, in April, their legal ability to be here based on the notion that conditions have improved in Venezuela.

Be honest here: you used the term as little more than a slur against immigrants that you don't like.

Yeah, but they're probably Trump supporters. As are a lot of others, for the reasons you laid out. But he'll never get it. He's incapable.

I believe Trump extended protections for Venezuelans on his way out of office last time, citing humanitarian concerns as well as a national security threat. I assume their lawful status remained in place throughout Biden's term given that it wouldn't make any sense to talk about revoking a status that no longer existed. If that's true, then I don't see how anyone can claim they're illegal.

To be fair, poster linked a crap resource that used the term illegals. The problem with using crap sources is you can only derive crap ideas from them. Be better.

I personally know people here from Venezuela on TPS that have been waiting for asylum for 9 years. Venezuela is worse off now than it was a year ago, so revoking this status is certainly "interesting" timing.

As for the loose use of the word "illegal" I know a Venezuelan family that are legal US citizens that have been harassed by their MAGA neighbor to the point they are moving. Words have meanings, and if you want to call people "illegals" that aren't actually here illegally you are an asshole. Christ would be proud I'm sure though.
