No discussing .... because you come off as deliberately not engaging in a real discussion.
If the words bias or racism are mentioned, what we are seeing from you are knee-jerk reactions.

In this thread I have asked several times how our society should address bias - which everyone in this conversation has agreed exists - yet have seen no serious response from your side.

Meritocracy does not by itself overcome learned biases. Ignoring the supposed human nature of bias and how it can inflict real harm does not address the harm itself.

To insinuate that my views are that of a kindergarten teacher trying to be fair is quite the comment. Should we not try to be fair?

My advice to Democrats is just standby and wait. Given enough rope Trump will metaphorically hang himself, a prime example being the inflationary tariffs that he just imposed. Maybe it's just me I don't think his purge of FBI agents will go over well either.

    “The agony of defeat”

Independent Journalist Highlights Why Dems Are So Quiet About Trump Right Now

So why aren’t Democrats up in arms? Why aren’t there mass protests against imminent fascism, climate apocalypse, and trans genocide?

One reason there are no mass protests by Democrats against those things is likely because they see no value in having them. They wouldn’t have much impact any time soon. Trump is able to do those things because voters elected him president. And they have known this since early November.

    +
Even so, if Democrats and progressives really believed that Trump was the second coming of Hitler, that climate change was the apocalypse, and that recognizing just two genders constituted a “genocide” of trans people, then they would have been in the streets, marching for dear life. According to their own statements about Trump, their own values, and what they would do in the face of danger, Democrats and progressives around the world should have taken to the streets en masse.

The fact that they didn’t shows that they really didn’t believe those things were true and good; they just said they did. Polls show that either a majority of Democrats or a significant percentage of them agree with Trump on energy, migration, and transgender issues. As such, the reason the Democrats and the Left are so quiet is because they have been defeated morally, not just politically.

Democrats Insist On Destroying Themselves. Let Them.

Sometimes you can spot a disaster happening from across the room, and despite your instinct to help prevent it, you can’t and it happens – a tray of food falls to the floor, someone trips, or someone is caught trying to get away with something. Whatever it is, by the time what happens unfolds and registers in your head it is over, even though its unfolding seemed in slow motion, like a car crash. When it comes to the slow motion collapse of the Democratic Party…just sit back and enjoy the show.

Imagine losing an election in large part because of the radical fringe of your party, then embracing those people as the way forward afterwards. Doubling down on crazy is, well, crazy, right? It is. Yet, that is what the Democrats are doing.

News broke over the weekend that David Hogg, the anti-Second Amendment activist, was elected Vice-Chair of the Democratic National Committee. He’d been endorsed by Eric Swalwell, the gassy ignoramus from California known for having fallen for Chinese Communist “honey pot” on his ascension to Congress.

    +

Democrats can’t help themselves. It’s not that they embrace destruction, it’s that they are destruction and aren’t aware of it. Fish don’t know they’re wet, after all.

After reading many of the posts from the lefties in this thread, I realize just how bad of shape the democrat party is in.

The "party" is a dumpster fire - I don't think you'll find many people willing to argue against that who aren't more radical. Hell, many of us have been complaining about inept DNC leadership since the middle half of Obama's 2nd term. When i was younger, DNC was the party of the little guy, and they were winning on that. They've TOTALLY lost that message. And without that, they are now lost in a seemingly endless morass of identity politics, and... blank? I don't even know anymore, I feel like the message is so fragmented. Anti Trump? They're going to have to come up with something different. Can probably run on change in 4 years after the country is exhausted and battered after another Trump presidency.

And he always gets away with it.

My advice to Democrats is to accept the fact that republicans, especially MAGA Republicans, are going to fight dirty, that they have no desire to compromise with democrats, and that democrats can’t keep showing up to every gunfight wearing an accordion and playing a polka.

They’ve got some work to do for sure, but it has more to do with the leadership’s inability to deal with a fascist coup from the MAGA republicans.

That is not what the analysis involves. The analysis looks for differential performance. You are suggesting that the analysis assumes a correct breakdown, but that is false. Instead, it works off of the following assumption: if people have the same level of success/failure, that means that selection was made without systematic discrimination based on race. Racism exists when one race outperforms the other in the same role. And it is the race outperforming that is the victim of racism, as it suggests the threshold for getting the job is higher.

So if you did an analysis and found that white players in the NBA were outperforming black players, that would suggest bias against white players (i.e., racism). The same would be true in the other direction.

I'd like to see a simplish breakdown of that 'analysis'....like which coaches and which teams. Analysis can be easily manipulated to achieve a desired result. Also, they can't just go by wins and losses. A guy with a great team is going to tend to have better records.

I linked the paper. Feel free to read it (I would have hoped that you would have done so before arguing about it). The data is all publicly available.

And the point of regression analysis over a large enough sample is to make things like team quality into controllable or random things that don't impact the final results. Unless you think that there is some sort of confounding variable (i.e., you are seriously proposing that people look at their roster, say "I have a great team" and then become more likely to hire a black coach), those last two sentences are taken care of by the use of enough data and the regression analysis.

Exhausted and battered by what? The dems dragging the country through another bogus four-year investigation or the MSM'S constant criticisms and bashing of Trump? That is what wore on people his last term; therefore, I do not understand your assumption.

And he actually doesn't want it either. Because, without "woke", MAGA would literally have nothing and he'd have nothing to get righteously indignant about. In this respect, I agree. Stick to the issue at hand, make your statement about THAT ISSUE and that issue alone, do not ever respond to or mention Trump, MAGA or any hardcore MAGA members. . . and just feed 'em the rope! By the looks of it, they'll be swinging before year's end.
