Canada folds to Trump's demands and strikes $3 billion border deal

'I just had a good call with President Trump,' he posted on X.

'Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan—reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl.

'Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.'

It comes after Trump at the weekend announced he was preparing to slap 25 percent tariffs on imports from north of the border.

There are good reasons for that - the first being that real "patriots" are ready to punch your looney tickets the next time we see you in our Capitol after beating up police officers. The next is that I doubt you will muster up the intestinal fortitude to die for DOGE, MAGA, Trump or Musk - and they surely won't die for you when they can hide in a bunker or jet off to a non-extradition country. What good is grifting on the scale they are currently are without getting to spend the money they took from you mooks?

Get off your comie white horse. The founding fathers never envisioned income tax, much less than 30%-50% when you add in state and local income taxes.

Income taxes were created to help finance the Civil War, long after the founding fathers. For World War I, the highest tax rate was 7%, which was to finance the war.

Then the commie liberals have increased it to upwards of 40%-50% when you include state and local taxes. The founding fathers never envisioned over taxation, and certainly never envisions taxing citizens to provide charity to the rest of the world. The history of income tax was to pay for wars, not charity.

 

Yeah, the Founding Fathers never envisioned a lot of things, like the Industrial Revolution, automobiles, airplanes, atomic bombs, and AI at our fingertips, but taxes were one they actually did.

Unfortunately the world is more connected and complex than it has ever been, and we cannot hide our heads in the sand and pretend that we don't have to pay taxes to enjoy the modern conveniences like roads, bridges, ports, police and fire, military assets etc. and our security and safety they provide.

Things like USAID do exactly that, provide security while helping other countries develop so their emigrants don't all wind up on our doorstep at once. If you think the current illegal immigration numbers are an invasion, which they are decidedly not, and not just more bullshit from Trump (now it is about fentanyl if you hadn't noticed).

Also, we are ALWAYS AT WAR. We've been under attack from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea for years - we just do not declare wars for things like them overthrowing our government with their failed trust fund baby and cancelled TV reality show star and putting big dumb words in your empty head like "commie" (note it has two m's) because the stakes are too high with nuclear arsenals - or do you think nuclear missiles care if you want to hide behind a 2000 mile long wall you pretend Trump built?

So tell me in the Constitution where it says that we cannot levy a tax (hint: it doesn't - see Article I, Section 8, Clause 1).

We surely blew the brains out of people who felt their taxes were unfair under the Articles of Confederation during Shay's Rebellion and again after the Revolutionary War during the Whiskey Rebellion, and most prominently during the Civil War (seceding being a great tax avoidance scheme if you pull it off, which they didn't).

Lazy people decry taxes like they decried losing their slaves. It's part of life and unfortunately you happened to pick the Dear Leader who decided you need to pay more and his rich friends, less. Dumb move.

So either vote someone who isn't trying to tax you to death or get over it or move to a country that doesn't make you pay such onerous taxes - you'll probably find many lazy people like yourself already there - its called Russia and you'll make great cannon fodder in Ukraine or lots of fun for the FSB if you think the FBI is bad.

 

They didnt envision immigration policy for that matter, like there wasnt even a formal citizenship process. No one thought it was a big deal to step off the boat (unless you were a slave of course) call yourself American and start voting until a bunch of Chinese immigrated in the 19th century.
