We have tickets for the family on Sunday. My 12 year old son loves Gator softball. This will be his first game, and he’s super excited. He’s even skipping a travel baseball game for it. I’ll be wearing a Gator shirt with USF hat, since I work there. Related question: The Gator website is now listing the Ga Southern game at 9:30 am, but the USF site still has it at noon. Any idea what’s going on there? https://floridagators.com/sports/softball/schedule/2025 USF-Rawlings Tournament Central
This is sure to get an "off-topic". Doing what at Sebring? SCCA? HSR? Porsche Club? I spent many years as a corner worker based out of Moroso but doing amateur and pro events all over the South. Many 12 Hours at Sebring and 24 hours at Daytona. FIA races at Sebring and Homestead. CART races at Homestead. Pro races in downtown St. Pete. And many others.
Porsche Club ( 48 Hours at Sebring) I'm an OK driver but nothing special. I usually can pass 70% of the field.

I bet you still have your “Beanie” we had to buy at orientation. Congradulations on staying active! At the risk of being gigged for brining off topic, I am attaching a story I wrote about an incident that happened spring semester. Hopefully, you can confirm the accuracy.

What year was the last year for the Freshman “Beanie”? it was gone by the time I was a Freshman in 1967.
Looking back, I’d now say the beanie was a con just to get money from the 4,000 greenhorn newbies like me for some activity fund. I certainly never wore it and never saw one after the first day. By the time you came along people were smarter, I think?
I came to UF in '69 and never heard of a beanie. Of course, I never lived on campus, nor was I in a fraternity. Never participated in the "campus life." Lived in Georgia-Seagle Hall co-op house my freshman year, Landmark Apts. my sophomore year and then bought a mobile home and parked it in a park where Carrabbas is now near the intersection of Archer Rd. & 34th St.
Never heard of a beanie either and that would not have worked. Never lived on campus either. LaMancha apartments to start, then to a mobile home rented in Alamar Gardens, then to a house out Archer Road, then to a duplex near the Duck Pond (story to tell there) and finally bought a mobile home at Brittany Estates across from the airport. Brittany, then, was brand new and upscale for a mobile home park. Probably a dump now. The Duck Pond duplex? Rode my bike home one day and there was crime tape all around the house. Neighbor, a true wing nut, blew someone away on our front drive walk when he got involved in some sort of a confrontation across the street during a drug deal, or something. That was the clue the wife and I needed to get out of there and buy the mobile home in Brittany. Edit. One morning about 5:00 I'm awake and studying (yes, I occasionally did that) when a car parked right next to the house in the driveway was on fire. I ran everywhere shouting "fire...fire...run for your lives", or something like that including the upstairs apartment (I guess it was a triplex). Nobody died and they awarded me a "Smokey The Bear" badge. I was so proud.
When I was at Cornell before heading south to Hogtown, we had a panty raid. Posted notices on all of the trees. I honestly can't remember if there were any panties or naked girls. I was probably higher than "high above Cayuga Lake". (That's part of the college song.) Edit: Speaking of being "out of it", anyone remember the infamous Halloween Ball on campus? That was wild for a couple years before they kicked it off campus. I think it went to Santa Fe one year or two but don't recall what happened after that.
Kelsey was No. 2 last year. This year I decided to use the roster when I could. Next year, it may be the best player for the number. We'll see.
Not sure if it has been discussed already, but the North Florida opener Thursday evening is being televised on SEC Network+.
For the first time in UF Softball history an opponent throws in the towel in the bottom of the first inning after failing to get a single out. Score 32-0 with the bases loaded.
