    No shit.

The key is actually finding cases of fraud and either stopping or prosecuting them. There’s probably a certain % of fraud in everything from military contracts to Medicare billing and SS disability fraud - a favorite of rural red areas. Just stating “there is an XYZ estimated amount of fraud” accomplishes nothing. It’s like how it’s estimated there is a $600B tax gap the IRS could go after. Again, a well known issue but just stating the payment gap exists doesn’t accomplish anything. It has to be found and collected.

Dyno, I'm glad to see you returned. You were absent so long I was concerned.

And I will confirm what you said about security clearance measures is true. In 1959 my brother, who was 18 at the time and newly graduated from basic training at Lackland AFB, was transferred to a highly secured base within another AFB. Neighbors on the street we both were raised were contacted and questioned about his character and loyalty to the United States.

when I was a lowly grad student, 1 of my classmates decided to ditch the PhD & get a masters. He was taking a job at the "state dept" wink wink. 2 spooks came to my little cubicle & questioned me for about 30 minutes. I hardly knew the guy.

Living under is not the same thing as having like I have. Sounds like you believe that but it’s just not true.

That’s not the same thing. They do contract people but do it go as far back to contact people who knew you when you where born and in elementary school

So potus gets to decide if they want to usurp authority because potus doesn't like the way they legislate? Seriously? Isn't that called a dictatorship?

Be honest though; you lie for the Trump.

Nobody following this conversation can ignore that.

Does that not disturb you? I mean that's such a huge difference between, say, me who repeatedly gets called some form of annoying. Or those who add no insight or wit.

But now there's a whole subset of people here who literally lie for a criminal. Hearing your professional background, one would assume you'd not want to be part of that group. But here we are.

An account called End Wokeness surely isn’t biased at all. Trump blinked and lost round one to both Canada and Mexico. He said he wouldn’t negotiate and there was nothing either country could do to delay the tariffs from being implemented, but he did, and Canada and Mexico gave up very little in return relatively speaking. He saw the markets tank, saw that groceries and vehicle prices were going to spike and that this would be awful press for him and his team, and panicked. At the end of the day, Trump is all about himself and wants people to love him, and if he thinks something is going to jeopardize that, he pivots.

Fraud has become synonymous with shat you don’t like. CS is a complete moron, imho, but like the signs says, just because you are paranoid, doesn’t mean you are wrong.

Governing like the playground bully never works out well. Every interview I watch with Musk, I am left with the same two thoughts. He is brilliant and bat dung crazy.

Thanks, lacuna. I had to take a break for awhile, but Trump's return to the presidency was an irresistible lure! :)

Full disclosure: I confused the doctor thing with an effort to get my husband a passport. His parents had to go to the delivery doctor for certification of his birth details. Apologies for the confusion. The rest is true, though.

As I said before Trump took office, tariffs will be used as a negotiating tool by Trump.

What did Trump get from Mexico for basically nothing?
    1. Mexico agreed to stop the flow of illegals through Mexico to the US.
    2. Mexico agreed to put 10,000 troops on the border to stem the flow of illegals and drugs.
    3. I would imagine Mexico will now be fully cooperative as Mexicans are returned to Mexico.
    4. There are likely other concessions Mexico made that we are unaware of, probably involving drug cartels and perhaps Middle Eastern terrorists headed our way

What did Trump give up? Not much.

When America wins it feels like losing to far too many Democrats. Keep that in mind as Elon and his team slash waste and fraud

You have no problem with a billionaire foreigner pillaging thru highly sensitive & classified data of US citizens on government information and pay systems.
No security clearance, official authorization or right to know in sight.

    Wow.

I would argue with “unelected shadow government” as we at least see Musk out front (for good or bad).

Whoever ran the White House and made policy for the Biden Admin was truly an “unelected shadow government.”
Pretty rich for Shumer to say that after lying to Americans for years that Joe Biden was actually fit for office.

And that someone should not be an unelected or unconfirmed individual with no experience in government and conflicts of interests having a combined value of billions of dollars.

The real deep state and shadow government are the special interests that manipulate elected officials through campaign contributions and a prime example is the South African DOGE co-president who paid $277 million for his position.
Elon Musk spends $277 million to back Trump and Republican candidates

Although it won't happen anytime soon if ever, what's really needed is a Constitutional amendment specifically providing that campaign contributions are not a form of free speech protected by the First Amendment and specifically authorizing Congress and state legislature with the authority to enact legislation regulating campaign finance.
