Gee! Some of you guys (and your brothers) are really old. That makes it hard not to get your feet in your mouths and harder to remove it. Any of you still around my freshman (and only) year 1960-61? My younger brother (Lord forgive him) went to FSU’s First Pitch event Saturday night. Only cost $30 per person. He said one of the auction items was dinner with all the coaches, and sold 3 at $5000 each. The Saturday event was followed Sunday with a fan day and Garnet and Gold scrimmage.
Gasso has been named as head coach of USA National. Will be interesting to see if she keeps Tim on as an assistant.
Well, just think of me as an old black and white or sepia photo until Thursday at 6 pm when I come to life in blazing color as the season starts.
She will certainly bring her son so one current will be gone and possibly more. I'd just as soon see Tim go back to being head coach of the U18 team. He makes better contacts with up and coming kids and can also put a couple of our signed kids on and spend the summer coaching them before they ever hit campus.
Coaching the U18 team is definitely better for the program. Will be interesting to see who she gets outside of her immediate staff. Do they only get 2 assistants?
Not sure the exact number but somewhere around four assistants. I know one year there was Tim, Baldwin from UGA, Ball-Malone from UCF and I think at least one more who I can't remember.
I make it there every year, but my daughter has cheerleading national competition in Orlando all weekend, so I'll be there instead. It's her senior year, so last go around for us. Go Gators!
I am going to the North Florida game on Thursday, I have an extra ticket. Is anyone interested? You can get in and you don't have to sit next to me. Let me know if you want the ticket. $20 Section 102, Row 5, Seat 13.
Eat your hearts out, Rick and 72. I went by KSP, and there was a gate open. I saunter in. Jocey and Taylor were having a duo batting practice with CTW. At first, they were getting 10 swings apiece. And then, he switched them up differently, but I am not sure of the reasons. The amount of coaching he did was amazing. He would move them around in the batter's box and then move his pitching location. Then, he wanted them to hit a pitch to every field. Some balls were being bombed out there today. When CFE said they hit some bombs at practice, she was not kidding. There were quite a few HRs, but each hit so many I could not say who hit more. But the ones in the gaps and off the wall were unreal. Thursday cannot come soon enough.
The bad news is my freshman year was also 60 - 61. The good news if there is any is that I shot one over age playing golf today and raced the Porsche at Sebring this past weekend.
