This is a test to see if Trump claims victory tomorrow for some reason and walks them back, which is like a 50/50 IMO.
Oh wait ... Trump is already walking back his Mexican Tariffs ... Dow is recovering ... didn't even make it to tomorrow.
From November, the CATO trade people's predictions of trade under Trump 2.0: https://www.cato.org/commentary/trade-trump-20-wont-be-trump-10-better-worse Nailed it.
Mitch McConnell has a rare moment of honesty: Sen. Mitch McConnell criticized Trump's across-the-board tariffs in an interview on Sunday. He said the tariffs will "drive the cost of everything up" and antagonize US allies. "It will be paid for by American consumers," the former Senate GOP leader said. Mitch McConnell says Trump's tariffs will 'drive the cost of everything up'
Walking back? Mexico agreed to send 10k troops to the border to specifically police the movement of fentanyl which is one of the major reasons for the tariffs in the first place. They capitulated in less than 24 hours.
The tariffs are working brilliantly, so the joke is on you with yet another ridiculous post. Since you're already dressed for the occasion, perhaps you should run the DNC (aka The Pink Pony Club).
You mean like they did in 2021? And in 2023? And in 2024? Or the 15K they promised in 2019? Wow! That seems like a huge concession on their part.
So Mexico's big concession is they are doing the same thing they did in 2024 for Biden? Did they even stop? Is Mexico's other big concession that they'll start eating tacos and drinking tequila?
The Mexican military is bought and paid for by the cartels. If you think troops on the Mexican side of the border is actually going to accomplish something, I have oceanfront property in Kansas for sale you might be interested in. Besides, most of the drugs coming into the US from Mexico come in as contraband smuggled in along side legitimate products. Or smuggled in by American citizens returning from Mexico. How are Mexican military troops on the border going to stop any of this?
It's weird the supposed reason for all this tarrifs talk shifted to primarily "fentanyl" in the last few days instead of trade deficit or illegal trade practices or anything that would actually make sense to try and use tarrifs for. Using tarrifs to go after the illegal drug game is like using a chop saw to hammer in nails. Not the right tool for the job.
A home question. Answer: they're not. They're more extras for the spectacle, the pageantry that is Trump's preferred method of operation. All those manly men, with their big guns! So we'll have our military and the Mexican military shutting down the southern border, and the drug dealers will just throw their hands up in defeat, and go home to grow vegetables. Or, possibly, find one of the other million routes into the US to deliver their goods.
Nothing like threating to veer off course and drive into a wall then celebrating not veering off course to drive into a wall. Start the ticker tape parades!
Is there a joke in there? I should visit an ATL gentleman's club because of your rapist's tariffs? Umm....probably not, but perhaps. I'll keep you posted.
if this actually works - I’ll give Trump credit. I'm not sure what he is trying to accomplish in Canada.
