Reading comprehension is not your strong suit. How did what was posted make an excuse for POTUS?

Right now I would guess cockpit error enhanced by difficult to understand air traffic controllers instructions. Nobody's perfect. Tiger Woods has missed fairways by 50 yards. As a public figure I would wait for all the facts to come in. But as a poster I like to look at all the possibilities.

    Elon's take:

DEI needs to be addressed whether it had anything to do with this accident or not.

This is all about who is to blame for the crash and as per the rulebook, Biden caused the crash.

Just like guns, you blame the airplane instead of Biden (the pilot).

What was worse? All the DEI hires or the open border? It's like he sat there and thought "how can I destroy this country?" Literally.

Fortunately, Trump/Musk did not force the head of the FAA out of his job before this happened, because that would have been bad . . . Oops.

The good news is that the guy was forced out for a good reason--he was about to fine fine Musk $600k for failure to follow license requirements during two SpaceX launches. Nothing unethical about that. The last time I got a traffic ticket, I forced the judge to be fired to avoid paying the ticket--everybody does that, right?

I never said that DEI meant they were taking people off the streets. Do I believe DEI means the individual has absolutely no clue what they are doing? No. Do I believe that DEI means the standards are lowered (either a little bit or maybe even a significantly amount) for minorities and women? Yes. I do believe the standards are different for minorities and women, and that is unacceptable.

I do believe that some women and minorities are passed along during med school and pilot training with the same grades and evaluations that causes white men to wash out or flat out be kicked out. I do believe the standard is slightly different.

I'm not saying they aren't smart or are complete idiots. But with DEI you are never going to get the absolute best. And in situations where you are flying a plane or performing surgery, you need the absolute best.

I look forward to the day where I can trust that women and minorities have graduated from med school or pilot training with the same standards as white men and I can trust they 100% know what they are doing. With flying of course, I have no control. With medical, as I said, I won't see a minority and/or woman doctor under 40. I just don't flat out trust them.

People with those disabilities were not hired as air traffic controllers. If they were please provide examples. Although it will take at least 30 days before the NTSB issued a preliminary report and months before it issues a final report my guess is that cause may very well be somewhat similar to that of a 1978 collision in which a PSA 727 collided with a Cessna 172 near San Diego. While there other causes the crew of the 727 may have confused on plane with another. ATC warned the flight crew of the 727 of other traffic in the area. The crew acknowledged that they saw the other airplane although tragically it may have been a different plane. The same could very well be true of the crew of the Army Black Hawk. They were also warned by ATC that there was a plane near their flight path. The problem was that there were multiple planes in their immediate vicinity and they could have focused on the wrong one complicated by the fact that it night and there were also a lot of bright lights.

And just so you all know, a very good friend of mine has worked for a subsidiary of a major American airline (I won't say which, but I will say it's a major subsidiary of either Delta or American) who has been terrified of the falling standards for years now. He's worked in the airline industry for over 20 years now and has seen the standards decline, with both the pilots/flight crews as well as the maintenance and cargo crews. He worked in cargo for awhile, and he said some of the things the employees scanning the cargo wouldn't catch would scare you to pieces.

One of my dear friends, someone who works in the airline industry, is in the last few years very hesitant to fly. He honestly hasn't flown now in almost 2 years and will drive to any destination within 700 or 800 miles. I think that says it all. I haven't talked to him since this happened, but he won't be surprised.

So, I’ve seen reports staffing level at Reagan ATC last night was inadequate? That doesn’t seem like something that would arise under DEI. I’d guess DEI would result in extra ATC that were not as qualified as their non-DEI co-workers.
