Yup. We are in the era of the rich get richer. It was pretty clear from the beginning that incredibly flawed implementation of NIL would create this dynamic almost immediately. Funny thing is that if Texas would have gone full-on "bammer" prior to NIL, they would probably have been up in the Top 5-6 all along.

If this era lasts long enough, it will be interesting to see what happens to Alabama which has a strong in-state competitor in a not particularly rich State. They don't completely own a State like Ohio State does or have oil money coming out their ears like Texas.

 

Great comment about how Bama got us here. I guess you could say Bama did it to themselves....

 

I'm not going to immediately write-off the Bammers completely. They've spent almost the last century "creatively" finding ways get the best players on-campus and I suspect they'll adapt to find some illicit avenue of competitiveness sooner than later.

I do think its funny though how they've been recently upstaged by richer universities....I'm sure a lot of their "boosters" and bag-men are soiling themselves over it.

 

Are we still watching this name or should the title be updated?

 

Well if we are, it will be watching him cash a big check from the shorthorns.
