    This E.O. seeks to preempt state law and is contrary to at least two U.S. Supreme Court decisions:

    "The Secretary of the Interior, including through the Bureau of Reclamation, shall utilize his discretion to operate the CVP to deliver more water and produce additional hydropower, including by increasing storage and conveyance, and jointly operating federal and state facilities, to high-need communities, notwithstanding any contrary State or local laws. The Bureau of Reclamation shall take all available measures to ensure that State agencies — including the California Department of Water Resources — do not interfere with the Bureau of Reclamation’s operation of the project to maximize water delivery to high-need communities or otherwise, including but not limited to the issuance of a new Record of Decision maximizing water deliveries and consistent with the 2020 Record of Decision."

    Emergency Measures to Provide Water Resources in California and Improve Disaster Response in Certain Areas – The White House

    The Secretary of Interior doesn't have the discretion to ignore state water law and has absolutely no authority to jointly operate the State Water Project. Such a shit show of ignorance.....

    Even more bizarre doesn't this seem to run counter to the federal FEMA=bad, states should handle disasters narrative we just heard yesterday? Maybe there's more too this, I dunno.

    Y2K analogy is appropriate. The harm from this E.O. will be minimal because it won't go anywhere. It just shows how ignorant this administration is and how idiotic things are becoming.
    Deporting agricultural workers, however, will affect everyone that eats and cares about food prices. But we already have a thread for that.

    Its great how Y2k has been retconned as some kind of hoax/panic vs. an actual problem that people actually worked to address and the worst/most disruptive possible impacts weren't felt because we were proactive and diligent about it.

    Can this clown stop with executive orders and start having his people draft bills for Congress to address? Someone tell him that the next Democratic POTUS is going to reverse every one of his EO’s.

    You don't really get your information at all though, do you?

    The problem with the California wildfires wasn't the amount of water available to firefighters. How do you not know that?

    Imagine being a grown adult and not knowing that, but........being all happy when your man-hero Trump ignorantly babbles about water levels, just for political reasons.

    Shouldn't you actually know something about the issues you hold an opinion about? Isn't it somewhat embarrassing to know absolutely nothing about this stuff, but to..... talk about it?

    Sad times. People used to value... knowing things.
