If I had time, I’d be curious how UT, Bama and Auburn’s SEC schedule looks compared to ours. That seems grossly unfair to give us this preposterous schedule, I thought we always played the SEC opponents home and away in a given season.
I did a quick look at the different schedules a while back, and they all looked pretty similar to me. Look at how Bama closes their schedule! UK MSU @Tenn UF @Aub
Gators have now jumped to #5 in Kenpom. Defense went from #36 after UK to #18 after Tenn. SOS is now down to 106 already…
Breaking 30 is rare air. We are currently at 30.14, and if we finished there, it would be the third highest KenPom finish in Florida history behind 2013 and 2007.
As the season goes along, and after just escaping S Carolina, I suspect my 14-4 SEC regular season total may have been a bit optimistic. The way the SEC is doing I would not be surprised if any SEC team that posts a 500 SEC regular season record may be dancing. Auburn looks awful good, but winning on the road in the SEC is going to be one tough slog.
The right team going 8-10 or 7-11 may still get them in. Real shot at 13 bids with Vandy’s pick up in play.
It’s all about momentum, patience, and having an array of options that in any given game can assume the mantle. Not only does Florida have this with the nucleus of players getting playing time, but this is also the most unflappable and aggressive team we’ve had in over a decade. This makes us hard to defend. That play that Golden ran near the end of the SC game where a pick was set for Richard on the other side of the ball and where Clayton threw a cross court baseline pass to him for a much needed three, epitomizes where this team can go if it continues to work on its half court offense.
Excellent rating. And the Gators’ current offensive rating of 125 would usually be good enough to lead the nation, but Auburn’s insane 129 rating is out there. Very curious about Florida will look against them.
I hate that we catch them in an away game as shooting always seems to suffer just a little on the road. Fortunately defense travels and we excel in that regard. As long as we stay close and competitive in that game, I’m calling it a success.
the next 10-day stretch is going to be brutal. @Tenn, @Auburn, @Miss St (plus Vandy at home). We should be able to go 2-2, but if we can win 3 of those games we might sneak into the top 3-4 in Net, which would have us as a #1 seed. Still lots of basketball to be played. Hope this week off makes us even better, and Hand Log Ten decides to return for Tenn
