Wasn't this whole discussion about what was happening in the first week? None of the initial claims make much sense if we aren't supposed to judge things yet. Perhaps you should have responded to them telling them that, rather than trying to take a shot at me and then having the data shoved back against the narrative that you would prefer.

 

Immigration happens largely because of the job market. No open jobs, no immigrants. Lots of open jobs, lots of immigrants. No open jobs in 2020.

I do like that you went straight to a Republican "report" though. To show how you aren't an ideologue, of course.

Let's put it this way: they used FY 2021 numbers to attack Biden, when that year started well over a month before the election even happened. They then would drop FY 2024 data whenever it wasn't convenient (and add it in when it didn't matter as much).

What do Biden's '24 crossing numbers matter? His four year numbers sucked compared to Trump's. I'd also like to see the sharp decline after Trump was elected. Remember, that's almost two months of '24.

 

Did it change the big picture?

 

Of course, that is why they did it. If you include lower immigration years (like FY 2024) and either drop a high immigration year (FY 2021 coming out of the pandemic) or put it on Trump, that would change the pictures.

See to many people words are important. Poster claimed Biden did nothing. Then when confronted with positive evidence disproving that statement, poster stated that Biden did not stop it. Equals moving goalposts. Now is using proven faulty and biased stats as well.

 

No problem although I would add that almost all of them were already scheduled for apprehension and deportation, Trump accelerated the process by a maybe a week or so. Most had committed crimes although the only crime for some of them was illegal presence in the US.
