Sorry if someone else already posted this, but I was thinking about South Carolina losing tough games and it reminded me of this-- Chandler Parsons does it again!! Buzzer Beater vs. south carolina - 1/23/10
I was a student at this one in the Rowdy Reptiles. Great seat for that game as well. I was on TV there too. Man I'm old. 15 years ago.
So my wife makes fun of me because every game we go to, someone has something to say to me and I don't say anything to anyone. Lol. At least not first. I have a theory it's because I'm not the tallest guy at 5'9 and quiet. With that said, I weigh 220. I'm not like a shrimp. I just go to the game to root for my team and have fun. My dad being a student when I was a kid got me hooked and I've been here every since. My first year in Gville was 96. What a year.
I don't worry about the guys getting worn down over the course of the regular season. A couple of days between games is plenty. The SECT is a different story, however. I never like to lose, but I'd be okay with losing early in that tournament and not playing on Sunday. I see it every year; the two SEC teams in the SECTCG look sluggish in the opening round of the NCAAT, especially if they get cursed with the Thursday game. Both UF and Awbrin lost in their NCAAT openers last year.
Great post! I have sooo many great stories of UF-UTn head-to-head match ups, having lived here in Knoxville since 1994. Some reflect poorly on the locals, just as I'm sure our fans don't always comport themselves with magnanimity when the Vols come to our venues, but mostly they have left us alone. There was more vitriol in the Fulmer years, fo sho.
Watching that, I'm glad they went away from the oversized shorts that they used to wear. I like the uniform shape now. Neither Larry Bird hot pants or Michael Jordan knickers.
I somehow made the long drive from jax and met my friend who came over from Brevard. We got 2 seats for &85 each and were right behind the anounncing table on the floor, you could hear my disguist on the broadcast with some play and calls, was on tv several times, especially the after game interviews with Will and A-Mart. They seemed like good kids, signed autpgraphs and very personably, even stold some they couldnt get to they would come back after the locker room. Amazing game and time and made it there and home safely.
One year I think UT had a bowl game in Miami and the basketball team had a game at the O'Dome a few days later. There were a fair number of UT fans attending the game that arrived by bus probably on their way back to Knoxville. We beat them. After the game a young Gator fan was doing the chomp toward their bus and an old lady shot him a bird. LOL.
Yep. We've shown in many games that we're never out of it and that we've got the ability and the fight to come back.
