Agree with one more exception. Jackson was a heck of NT last year. Not sure there's a true in-house replacment for him. Might be a replacement by committee thing. We'll see.

The sky isnt falling but it would be much better if we got a big guy inside and a corner, not fluff but legit starters.

Its a ton of guys on tgat list but who are the gamechangers. Any great fefense has a couple. We dont have glaring holes no doubt but if i had to guess, the lbs look to have that potential. Cam, Bridges and Pynum were a big part of our revived run stopping that seemed to come out of nowhere , Dez helped that too. Our corners did a collectively good job but we lost our two best. Which three will even be on the field. Theres plenty of talent but still alot of question marks if you ask me.
In contrast, our o has almost the entire line, bigtime returning rbs, DJ is obvious, receivers are our only group that lost production.

Thats great news and would make sense as to why we haven't went to the portal for a big guy.

A lot of good players and I feel confident they'll have a good off season and fall and we'll see improvement.

Neither have the ideal size for DT. Sapp feasted when Banks got penetration.

UF didn't just loose Marshall. UF already replaced him the 2nd half of the season. He had nothing to do with the four game run to end the year. Bridges is the only guy in the entire secondary that needs to be replaced from the end of the year defense.

For position turnover in college it doesn't get much better than that.

They were situational DTs at best. They didn't play DT in the goal line package.

Sapp is the starting edge/DE. I don't really know how many snaps he took at DT. Taylor averged like 7 snaps a game on defense, and like with Sapp, I don't know how many were at DT.

Yep, we'll see what he does in the spring.

The only thing I remember about him was CBN was trying to get him for January and he found out he was eligable to immediately enroll, so they brought him in after fall camp started. I think the reports were that he gained 50lbs in one year at the JC and had a lot of ability. We'll see.

Im not too worried about corner. We did lose some tacklers though. Bridges was a good one.

He had some great reps at DT versus that hapless backup OG against LSU, but neither would set the world on fire at DT. Sapp has exceeded my expectations at edge. Glad to see him back for a last go round.

Is that OG always hapless or just against Sapp? Sapp beat soon to be 1st round pick Will Campbell that day too. Again, they've been productive situatioal DTs. That's all they've been asked to do.

There's the health issue at corner. Grimsley is the only one that may not be ready for the fall. The rest of 'em need to stay on the field.

I really dont know about the OG, as he was a backup that had to play because of injury to the starter and was a liability for them. Tbf, Campbell looked pretty poor a lot that game. I remember the play by play even mentioning uncharacteristic play from him, but yes Sapp ramped up his performances throughout the year and he should be one of our top performers on the line. We were the better OL and DL that day.

Thats my only worry is who is actually going to pkay. It was musical chairs last year. They were young and did a decent job. Who are the three starting game one and how many of those will still be available game five. Bridges was the most reliable and he wasnt even a corner to start the year. If mclain could take a spot and hold his own all year, that would be huge. Can he tackle? You can only have so many dions before teams just start running at us. I do worry about run stoppers and not getting soft. One kids name slips me but he was a good tackler at corner. He was one that got time later in the year as injuries took its toll and the kid would hit.

Moore and Johnson would be projected starters that played a lot last year. Grimsley, Hanks and McClain are highly rated backups. Johnson was an Ohio State commit, Grimsley was a Bama commit, Moore wt own time was a ND commit. Hanks and McClain could have played anywhere.

That is a recurring theme with the young players CBN has recruited and Harris is coaching.

Anyone know why CBN would be in Milton, FL today?
