No. We can want our children to respect other people without having to want them to treat other people like their parents. I find it interesting that that is your take away from what I wrote. Do you have kids? If that were your child acting like Sapp in that video, would you think something along the lines of "you handled yourself well, kid!"

I do have kids and I taught them to treat everyone who deserves respect respectfully and to stand up for those being abused by power. In this case I would listen to my child, hear what he was trying to accomplish and work out with him how well his actions met his goals and how his future actions could be improved to better meet his goals. My kids are in their mid 20s I am more of an advisor than a dictator at this point.

    “Deserves” respect huh?
That kind of subjectivity will get your ass in trouble many times.
    That’s how libbies roll though.

Warren Sapp is known to be a real ass. He obviously didn't deserve to be arrested even though he was disrespectful to law enforcement (not a crime).
I have watched plenty of videos of police over stepping their boundaries, making up laws on the fly, protecting their own including the video earlier about a citizen simply trying to receive a complaint form for an officer and being threatened with arrest. That makes my blood boil.

Cops also put up with a bunch of BS and probably don't get proper credit for handling situations in a manner more calmly than an average citizen would. Example #1 is below, long but really entertaining.

Not this particular time but it has come up before and yes he considered it an insult. I didn't need to ask him this time, I knew the answer.

Cops handled it very poorly. Ignore Sapp or ask him to not interrupt or move on. The person had the ticket - just say, you're welcome to tell it to the Judge - have a nice day. end of story.

We are trained to answer questions. I don't feel compelled to answer questions strangers ask of me...I may answer but don't feel obligated to do it. This was a weak cop and was led by the nose to the slaughter...of her reputation.

The "mod from another section" does not moderate on this forum. Your attack without any facts is not welcome.

was on the sideline at the old sombrero as a guest of the team- he ignored me but went after some guy who was watching him warm up- came over to the sideline and got into the guys face- cops immediately stepped in and got the guy out of there and then other police told all of us with the sideline pass we had to leave

one of my daughters was doing an internship at a law office in Orlando where Sapp was being deposed- she observed him being vocally abusive to every female in the room -

he is not a nice person- the cop was way out of bounds but Sapp also was wrong in sticking his nose where it didn’t belong
