China was well on their way to becoming the global leader in renewable energy manufacturing and this essentially guarantees that.

The selfishness of old Trump voters is astonishing. They're essentially telling the next generation: "I want a tax cut....and I want deficit-funded economic stimulus....and I want ALL my Social Security... and I don't want to pay ANY of the costs of climate change.....

......and I want YOU to take care of these issues, and to pay for them!"

Not really, but the climate Communism (Paris Climate Accord) had nothing to do with clean water, land and air.

The best part is we no longer have to pay foreign countries welfare money for being Americans.

    DRILL BABY DRILL!!!!

All kidding aside, I am still for all of the above so long as it's a practical energy source.

The left missed the mark trying to claim “global leadership” at the feet of the American taxpayer. That bs doesn’t play in the bullshit firehose of social media world where everyone is an “expert”. The left needs a social media bully and common sense bubba thinking. Playing nice and being the learned elder is for losers.

Hmm, so even your ridiculous sources are admitting that it will not lead to more energy production. It will likely result in more energy consumption. Now, I know this is difficult economics, but when the quantity supplied doesn't increase and the quantity demanded does increase, what happens to price?

Don't forget the felon promised gas prices would have to fall since that's what was making food costs too high. Waiting.

Seeing as we had to take into account Military Operations' impact on climate, the Biden agenda on climate was probably a bit out over their skis. Kerry had also convinced Biden that Climate Change was a bigger challenge to National Security than China. Not sure that is the conventional wisdom in most FP circles.

Something tells me that employees at these factories who may be laid off as the result of Trump's war against EVs may not be too please with the president's program and a lot of them probably voted for him.

Similarly, I do not think that auto manufacturers that have and will be investing in EV production are not exactly enthused over Trump's war on EVs.
U.S. Expected to See $312 Billion Invested in Electric Vehicle Manufacturing
Similarly, companies that have committed to investment in wind turbines as well as their employees may not exactly be happy with the Donald's antipathy to what he calls "windmills".

Interesting. Should have been under a sustainability / supply chain risk and capability assessment. Of course a nuclear winter would do wonders to climate change.

Trump keeps referring to the Green New Deal. As a point of information when AOC tried to introduce the Green New Deal legislation in 2019 Nancy Pelosi didn't even let the bill get of committee.
Nancy Pelosi just threw some serious shade at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘Green New Deal’
Nancy Pelosi isn’t all that impressed. Asked about the “Green New Deal” in an interview with Politico on Wednesday, Pelosi dropped this amazing bit of shade on it: “It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive. The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?”

Pelosi knows exactly what she’s doing here. Her utter dismissiveness of the “Green New Deal” – and, by extension, AOC, who is the member most closely identified with it, is entirely intentional.

And when Trump blew the two GA Senate races in Ga in ‘20 and gave Democrats at 51-50 majority in the Senate, the Green New Deal returned to life and entered into law as the Inflation Reduction Act.

In 2021 the Senate specifically voted down the Green New Deal. Some of the Green New Deal provisions were included in the Inflation Reduction Act but it was nowhere as extreme as the original Green New Deal and the provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act encouraging renewable energy provided jobs and were beneficial to the economy.
    From 2021
Senate rejects Green New Deal as marathon voting begins
    From 2023
US renewables industry already reaping benefits from the Inflation Reduction Act

The IRA was the slimmed down version of the Green New Deal that Democrats could get Manchin to sign off on. It was the New Green New Deal that was renamed something else after inflation was on the rise.
