true, and it was a 2 that was called a 3. still, should have made more FTs but we'll still take 17-2. Much better than I could have hoped for before the season started

Me three! Seriously, can't believe that one. Their lack of ballhandling and the missed FT at the end, but I would have taken a fairly large bet against that multiple times.

The his was one of my favorites wins ever. I was so hopeless. Also didn’t help I found out we owe A LOT in taxes before tip :D. What grit by the guys. And a phenomenal call to go to the 1-2-1. Just awesome. Gonna watch it 8 more times tonight.

what a game by Richard. The good thing about Condo is even when he can't make his shots he can contribute in so many ways. Would still love to see him get his offensive groove back, and he needs to get back to beast mode on the boards

I kept saying their bigs were tough and our bigs better be ready. Not. But we won, Lordy.

That press could only really work against such a bad ballhandling team as SC. One of the worst teams in this the country in steals allowed, very poor ast/to ratio. But, man, did it ever work tonight. Got us 8 extra shots in the second half, and 9 more than them overall. +22 fast break points, +17 points off turnovers, +9 turnovers forced. We were really poor in half court defense tonight (especially our switches), and no one besides Richard could make shots, but energy and coaching pulled this out.

I don't think we'll start slow against UGA. We hate them too much.

Exactly. One thing I thought about this team all along is that they weren’t going to be upset proof, but they may be blowout proof. Experienced guard, deep post rotation, and good balance overall (inside-out, offense-defense) means we can stay competitive lots of different ways. It helps that we have some insane individual competitors (Martin, Clayton, Condon, Haugh). We’ll see if we that plays out the rest of the way, but we should be in every game we play.

I’ve never quite thought of him in that vein, but his intensity has shot up massively this year.

I thought that I had put a hex on us. We have a tradition of making victory margaritas after Gator wins. Today we had a visitor arrive and were making chicken enchiladas for dinner so the request was put in for me to make margaritas. After taking a few sips it felt wrong to have a margarita before the game.

We did have victory margaritas afterward. They tasted great.

For some reason I feel like we really struggle against defense that pressures us way beyond the 3 point line.

Undoubtedly. Those hard hedges and blitzes really keep Clayton, Martin, and Aberdeen from turning the corner and getting downhill, where they create so many shots. Also keeps them from finding bigs rolling to the basket and cutters backside. Aggressive ball screen coverage is really kryptonite for a continuity offense like ours. Not entirely dissimilar from how teams like Purdue and Butler played us in that second tourney run in 2007.
