This is crazy..we go over this without an OC. With an OC (hello Billy) its easy money. Lagway gets another year under his belt and offense is more mature as well as defense.

DJ Lagway at 25/1 for the Heisman flyer.

Also I see FSU/Bama with Bama -7.5...I dont care how bad Bama looked this year they werent a 2 win team who lost by 20 to horrible teams all year. You dont turn around 2 wins overnight but they can damn sure turn in a national championship (cough cough) season to a 2 win season overnight.

Odd this is out there but we are also listed in the “early” polls as top 20.

Hard Rock not showing anything yet but I'd jump on the over for the win total.

We're a run first offense (and I'm fine with that if we're winning) and the only way Lagway gets to throw the ball enough for Heisman type numbers is if we're behind in games. Still at +2500, not a bad flyer.

Our schedule has alot of questionable games though. If we had an acc schedule, it would be a higher number. So much is dependent on DJ becoming what we all hope he will be but thats not anywhere close to a given.

Arent we about 50/50? When DJ is 10 of 18, why would we throw it 40 times.

I am not a gambling man but if I was and decided to be on a team I am emotionally connected to I would be all over this. lol

A little too early IMO. Roster is not even complete yet.

Not me. I never bet on the Gators one way or the other unless I really want to lose the bet. Like betting on them to lose.

Well, Billy doesn't have the best road record, but we could very well upset a team or two not listed (TX, Ole Miss) and also possibly lose to one of the above too.

Let's not forget DJ was the number 1 dual threat QB. He probably held up running most of the year because of the injury and depth issues. He may not pass it 40 times a game but remember he never showed his running ability last year which he is great at...that being said winning a bunch of tough games always gets the QB in the Heisman conversation. Based on that DJ could be in for a big jump this year so I wouldn't discount him yet.

DJ should save his legs for necessity. Healthy is better.

Wouldn't call 6.5 a safe bet if he wins fewer than 8, what would you think about it? I do not want to imagine a 7 win season. Really need another solid 8 wins, which we all know is still just decent.

We will likely need to be better than last year to be confident of 8 wins. Lsu and ol miss werent gimmes. We lost some talent and its not proven that it has been replaced with equal or better. We got some talented freshmen coming in but tge portal hasnt been impressive.

I don't like how the schedule aligns early. You may be right. Can't be digging an o-fer against LS-who and Miami. Both are on the road, and Nape has really not won an important road game against a good team yet has he? No, 2- 10 FSU, does not count as some monumental win for me, or Miss State.

UF has a lot to prove and a lot of negative markers to overcome. Winning on the road being of paramount importance in 25, to have any chance at the playoffs or a good bowl.

The odds are for regular season wins (6.5). We only won 7 regular season games this year. And some of the wins could have easily swung the other way. I am as glad as anyone to finally feel like things are progressing and maybe have some optimism for next year. But I've been fooled before. This is by no means a gimme bet. I hope I am proven wrong.

I'm proud to say I cashed in a couple units on Florida over 5 wins this past season. I'll take Florida over 6.5 if that's still the number this summer when I'm in Vegas. But I agree its not the gimme some of us would like to think that it is. One injury to you-know-who and the under becomes a lock.

I look at the 2025 schedule like this:

Very Likely Wins (5): LIU, USF, MSU, @UK, FSU
Probable win because its at home and Nico is mid (1): Tennessee
Likely loss because they're national title favorites (1): Texas
Hard games away from the Swamp that could go either way (5): @A&M, @Miami, UGA, @LSU, @Ole Miss

It's easy to look at that and say "Win the 6 games we're supposed to and just one in the last group and that's the over". But the next good team Napier beats away from home will be his first. He's due, and he'll have 5 chances at it in 2025. I like the bet but but I'm not taking out a 2nd mortgage to bet the over either.

There was a time ladt year when you thought your bet was sunk. Begas is pretty damn good at lines.

You're damn right I thought my bet was sunk for a while, especially after the A&M loss and then when Lagway got hurt.

Nothing is ever "easy money" when it comes to Vegas. UF ended the 2024 season on a high note, but 2025 will be a new season which presents a new set of challenges.
