In Dec 1989, I took this picture at the stadium not yet named The Swamp. First time in 90 years that a picture like that could be taken in Gainesville.

Looks like there may be another chance on Wednesday. Someone needs to get over to BHG Stadium and make sure this chance doesn't go by the wayside.

It is coming down right now in PCola.

Flakes are running around trying to catch the flakes.

They seem notoriously hard to catch compared to what I've seen on TV.

Winter of (aro) 1976, (getting old can't remember the exact date) we had a snowstorm in N West Florida. My neighbor and I were able to build an igloo big enough for two teenagers to get into, by a fence where a snow drift accumulated.

Could have been 1973. We lived in Bonifay for 1 year. My dad's company building I-10. Went bowling on a Friday night in the rain. Came out it was snowing. Played in it most of the night and all day Saturday.

I'm not sure the general public can get in at the time of day that this might look like this anymore. The best bet is to get someone from the UAA to snap a pic if it ices up again overnight.

It snowed in Tampa in 1977. I remember driving down from Johnson city, tn Christmas of 89’ going through Jacksonville and I think there was an ice storm and then driving through Waldo it was snowing and then Gainesville on to Tampa. Strange weather.

I was moving into my first house in Gainesville that weekend. What a mess power went out , luckily we had a fireplace. We camped out in the living room and fed logs all night

There were 3 in Jax when I was a kid …77, 81/82 and 89. 89 had the most accumulation (I think). I believe it was Christmas Eve. I was working part time at Walmart and by early afternoon the parking lot was empty. I must have driven by close to a dozen cars that slid off the road on my way home. Good times

I think it was 1977 that our rugby team practiced with it snowing in Gville. We took a group picture of us in it and sent it to Rugby Magazine. Not sure if they ever printed it.

I remember flurries in Polk County in ‘73. In 89, I was driving down 75 to go visit my Mom and Icicles were forming on my Antenna. What were those foreign substances!
