am not surprised- joey needs to protect his own Biden pardons Fauci, Milley, members of J6 committee in final hours of office
Cool. There's no telling what might happen when the country is about to inaugurate a criminal who has displayed a pattern of abusing government power for personal, frequently criminal, purposes.
Apparently crazy Joe thinks Fauci, Milley, and members of Jan 6th Committee committed crimes. Interesting. We know many of them perjured themselves, tampered with witnesses and destroyed evidence and records. I know it would be weird to see the Trump justice system go after any of these people because it is not like the Biden administration teamed up with other DA's to weaponize the justice system and bring any frivolous lawsuits against Trump.
Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Stephen K. Bannon, and George Papadopoulos, Charles Kushner, D'Sousa (2000 mules fraudster) were all pardoned by the felon and actually charged with crimes... totally unlike those Biden pardoned.
No, but we might see some legislation regarding pre-emptive pardons such as these and you might be surprised when it receives some Democrat support. The problem here with these pardons, aside from being pre-emptive, is that such a precedent allows any future president to railroad his or her political opposition and then absolve any officials he/she utilized in that process of any crimes. The president can now form a Gestapo and ensure that none of the Gestapo have to operate under fear of prosecution down the line. "Preserving our democracy...."
All of these figures were charged with crimes. They were not handed pre-emptive pardons. Thus, these pardons were not out of step with what previous presidents had done before him.
PLEASE archive this thread so it will be around 4 years from now when Trump gives pardons at the end and the Democrats freak out. Just point to this thread.
Just part of the escalating tit for tat between the parties that has emboldened presidents to act in ways that are dangerous to the republic. Not that we’re much of a republic anymore anyways.
I think if a retired federal employee is granted a pardon, they should lose all post-employment benefits. Same should apply to any person who is a current or former elected federal officeholder. Furthermore, if the recipient is a current elected officeholder, they should be removed from office ……. and if a current federal employee they should be terminated.
Confession by projection is your forte. Joe Biden sold access his entire career. And his DOJ and the Deep State were weaponized against Trump. Fauci helped create Covid and he covered it up. He backed the dangerous drug Redesevir while criticizing much safer drugs that were beneficial. If Fauci was not guilty no pardon would be necessary.
They are NOT falling for that crap... Trump will get his... What they need to do is get the four doctors that said Biden was in complete control of his metal faculties in a courtroom UNDER OATH... Then, when the truth comes out, move to nullify Biden's pardons based in his cognitive impairment and metal decline.
No, you're wrong. My post from another thread.: That is likely not the law. That concept is sourced from a 1915 SCOTUS opinion, Burdict v. U.S. The language appearing to make that requirement has recently been held to be dicta, language that is not part of the actual ruling itself and, therefore, not controlling on other courts. That was holding in Lorance v. Commandant, a Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals case. Lieutenant Lorance was convicted of murder for ordering his platoon to open fire on 3 Afghans, killing two of them. "For the reasons provided above, we hold that Lorance’s acceptance of the presidential pardon did not constitute a legal confession of guilt or a waiver of his habeas rights, nor did it leave the court without a live case or controversy. The Court reverses the district court’s dismissal of Lorance’s habeas petition and remands for further proceedings." https://fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/legaldocs/mypmnoxykvr/pardon.pdf[/QUOTE] How about a 34 time convicted felon? We saw what he did last time.
Not a fan of this. If there are crimes, get them out in the open. Biden sort of did the DOJ and Bondi a solid. She can focus on her true remit than political scoreboard operator. Question is do the Pubs want to spend the next 2 years before the midterms chasing this or do them want to get back to business?
I'm very confident that Trump will move forward....... .....on new meme coins, and other ways to exploit the powers of the presidency for personal gain.
