So we're in the make it up phase of thinking what we want to think.
Even if the US only deported a million workers it would have a tremendous impact on the economy.
I still think people are dreaming if they think that this is going to be anything more than the deportation of mostly people already in custody.
Operationally, it's just too hard to pull off. I can see them turning away all asylum seekers for a while, before Big Ag and others start to lobby enough that enthusiasm for this plan shifts back to the average. But the idea that they are somehow going to go door to door across US cities finding undocumented immigrants and then somehow moving them out of the country in a timely and inexpensive manner is a fairy tale. And I'm actually kind of shocked Anti-Big Gov republicans actually think the Federal Government can pull this off.
