Don't you feel like you should actually know the facts about things that you comment on? Here - I'll help you out. But just this once, because you're a grown adult and it's not my job to educate you. Many people were injured, including 174 police officers. Four officers who responded to the attack died by suicide within seven months.[35] Damage caused by attackers exceeded $2.7 million.[46] January 6 United States Capitol attack - Wikipedia.
Did a one-point loss to Missouri feel better than a blowout loss would have? Absolutely. That said, the GOP win was substantial, no question about it. Again, absolutely. But if you're talking about the need for post-election therapy, we've never had members of the losing party react the way Republicans did after the 2020 loss. More than four years later, many of them are still complaining that it was it was stolen, that they didn't really lose. I hope we never see a temper tantrum like that again.
It was ONE mostly peaceful protest. How many of those have we had in the last few years? But this single one was unacceptable because we simply won't tolerate a bunch of white conservatives acting out. BTW, I have no problem with punishing people who act like that. I just think your side's obsession with this ONE event is humorous.
George Floyd riots just in Minneapolis cost $500M. What do you think about that? Arson damage during the George Floyd protests in Minneapolis–Saint Paul - Wikipedia.
LOL. Pretty cool gaslight attempt : in this post, people are opposed to a violent riot where hundreds of police were beaten and our govt was attacked, and which was part of a sitting President's attempt to not peacefully transfer power and to overturn an election.....because..... .....get this...... it's a real winner..... .....most of the rioters were white. Pretty good (not) attempt at some dishonest gaslighting there, sir. Kudos for creativity. (Fabrication, that is. )
Arrest anyone criminal or violent and apply legal recourse. Anyone criminal or violent is neither a patriot nor a "hostage." This, of course, has all been said before. Your turn now. Of course, never mind - you already cast a presidential vote for the guy who said lied that the violent J6 rioters were "hostages." Oh, also; the incident you reference was not motivated by the un-American lies of a sitting President traitor. (Weird that you're still treading this tired, un-American path.)
It is fascinating that you are still trying to work your way around this one. For one, the "mostly peaceful" claim was due to the fact that most BLM protests were peaceful and had no arrests for violent acts. That is factually accurate. That is clearly not true for Jan. 6 (nor, it should be noted, Jan. 5 in DC when Trump's supporters started showing up). Two, it was not a protest but rather was intended to physically shut down the functioning of government and, according to the crowd, murder and otherwise harm members of that government for attempting to transfer power peacefully (a core function of a democratic system). Third, it seems like you do have a problem punishing those folks, since you seem upset enough about what they did to try to shape what they did into something less serious in your mind. Also, you are cheering the guy who is saying that they shouldn't be punished. Again, all of this seems like a fairly desperate attempt to deal with cognitive dissonance. I suspect that it because all of these defense mechanisms stop you from feeling emotional distress. Essentially, it appears that you are attempting to avoid emotional distress from supporting the Jan. 6 people when you don't view yourself as that type of person by engaging in a variety of forms of avoidance by denial (e.g., deflection, minimization, etc.). Frankly, I'd argue that seeing mental health professionals for therapy is a healthier choice than that.
we posting various riots for some reason? What does that have to do with trump followers, per his motivation, storming the capital beating LEO men and women and wanting to kill the VP in attempts to overthrow an election? Here’s another riot…. https://www.spin.com/2016/11/cubs-wrigleyville-world-series-win/
You can dismiss it all you want. Doesn't matter. But Jan. 6 was not the only result of the right's anger over losing the election. Election workers were threatened. Some had to go into hiding. Is that happening now?
Sounds like a typical riot. People get pissed off, gather, feed off each other and start tearing stuff up. Rioting by any group shouldn't be tolerated.
are there any reports of election workers being threatened, defamed or having to go into hiding after this election?
That's what elevates a riot to noteworthy status? Election workers being threatened? How about looting and burning down buildings? Is that a blip on the riot radar?
LOL - yeah, very "typical." It was just a rally being held on presidential certification day, by a sitting President who had lost the election, and who had been repeatedly telling lies about fake election fraud, and had been coercing officials (including his VP and state reps) to not certify the election - all as part of a criminal conspiracy to deny the results of the presidential election. And this is to say nothing of the fact that he and his administration had a good idea that the rally would turn violent. Oh, and of course the still sitting President watched the violence happily, while doing nothing to stop it, in obvious dereliction of his oath to defend the Consititution. Just bizarre that you are still trying to spread misinformation and deception about the un-American actions of the traitor you voted for. Haven't you figured out that your deception will take no root in this place of people who are actually informed?
I don't have a problem punishing people who break the law I would just like to see all rioters everywhere pursued with the same level of aggression by the authorities. Are you the same mdgator that posts on what used to be Gatorbait?
I get it. You don't want to tolerate conservative rioters. I don't blame you at all. We should expect better behavior from people who claim to be peaceful, productive and law-abiding.
^ Votes for a guy who calls rioters "hostages" ........ because they were rioting on behalf of the illegal political goals of a traitor. Just peak comedy. And betrayal of America.
And you fail again. Sorry, but your laughable false narrative that people disdain the un-American J6 rioters solely because they are "conservative" will always fail. Props to your tenacity in defending un-American traitors though.
