Amen. If you have the right angle and it’s within 8-10 feet, any bank shot is almost a layup. Tim Duncan mastered long range bank shots and he wasn’t the greatest long range shooter. I was always taught that a proper bank shot should increase your shot by 20-30%, which means if you normally hit 40% it’s 48-52% with the bank. Its all about getting the right angle and hitting the near side of the square, and it’s money every time. Great skill for guys with not the best shooting touch. Condo and Chinyelu should work on mastering it around the hoop, as well as the short hook. Condo often comes up short on his short hook shots

I think the bank shot is a great, high-percentage option out to 10 or 12 feet. It was a common thing back in the day but seems to be a lost art now. It should be a go-to for guys that lack a soft shooting touch. You can shoot it with more force and accuracy without worrying about arc.

Funny after i wrote 6 feet i’m at rhe courts now and realize i should have said at least 8-10 feet. I agree wven 12 feet. Duncan waa hitting out to 20 feet. Even Westbrick has a nice 15-18 foot bank shot. It’s a little cheat code for those more “shot challenged” players. Youre right, its perfect for players who shoot flat shots. Kenny Boynton should have perfected it

I love Chinylu’s game. My nickname for him is Shells. Anyone know the story behind why he wears two of them in his hair?

Texas played a lot of old school NBA offense: isolating to go one-on-one. I thought we did a nice job defending it.

Larry Bird had tremendous shooting touch from anywhere, but if the bank was open, he'd use it.

I was impressed that during warm ups most of the Texas players could finish at the rim during lay up drills from the left side with their left hands. Most teams can't do that.

That's my sarcastic way of saying they did amazing. I've been literally saying the exact same sentence every single game outside of the Missouri lost. That one hurt me. Sigh
