I was more focused on the second half that seemed less than objective commentary on his NFL prospects but really just teasing anyways.
We will see what the offense is ranked with DJ running it with some experience. I bet we make a solid jump even if we used a spinner.
300 more total yds would have placed us around top 40 with 5330 right around bama Not a big stretch considering the playing time our 3rd string qb got and given when DJ returned he was less than 100%
Maybe total offense are not the best stats to go by. I think redzone offense is important, and we need to improve in that... for sure. If you want to see some great short goal line offensive plays, check out the Toledo - Pitt bowl game in 2024 recently played. It was a 5 overtime game and the 2 point conversion (goal line) plays were very well coaches designed and executed. If I were doing "research" for more goal-line or two point conversion plays, I would deign them similar some to the plays in that (over time portion) game. I also think that we need to be in the top 10 to 15 in total offense to be someone formidable. Top 40 in total offense is not aspirational enough for the mighty Gators.
Believe I looked and our RZ offense was good from a percentage of scores but too many were FGs compared to teams ahead of us. So yes, need more TDs. Would be great. Recalling that we weren't even able to run a two minute offense our second season. Not optimistic but would be great if we had a group of plays ready for that inevitable situation. I believe we will get to the RZ often, but need more TDs. One more TD per game instead of a FG adds 4 pts and seems to be significant to the Scoring Offense stat. Two TDs instead of FGs would be huge.
I think we can get Lagway to not be a complete liability for 4 games in the year like Milroe was for Bama. Lagway seemed to be pretty consistent once he started games. I wouldn't use Milroe as a measuring stick.
Great point on 1 more td vs fg/game moves us to 32.3 and #33 just behind psu, tx, asu. 2more tds vs fg/game moves us to #11 behind smu over all our passing yds/att was 8.6 good for number 11, number 1 was ole miss at 10.6
OT but extremely sorry for anyone who is a Jags fan and has to deal with maybe the new worst owner in sports (Dan Snyder has passed the baton). Order of operations it would appear: Kahn fires Peterson but announces they will retain Baalke Kahn says on camera he will fire Baalke if anyone gives him good reason to (while Baalke is also on camera and yes, seriously) It would appear all HC's interviewed turn down the job if Baalke stays Kahn announces Baalke has been fired because they literally can't find a HC I assume next step is hire Saleh because that's basically the only option left.
Not so fast, it sounds like they’re going to let the interim GM hire Saleh (or whoever) first before they name a permanent GM
You are too good for this. Im not defending smu i just gave the #10 team for reference if we improved by 8pts a game and landed in the #11 spot. Here is the top 10 MIA IU MISS TTU BOIS WSU TXST SMU
