Stop the nonsense. Inflation is not the reason we are forcing you and your kids to pay your dad. That is the point. And it is not even close to the reason. In fact we are paying more than inflation should have us paying by double on 6 times the rate. And it is still not enough. So you keep screwing your kids if you do not want to be a part of the solution. And yes the solution sucks. As fdr created a terrible redistribution program.

Inflation is part of the equation. Always has been. If my Dad paid $100 30 years ago into SS that his Dad took from SS, that's roughly the same as me paying $200 today that my Dad is receiving. You're only seeing my Dad paying $100 and taking $200. But if my Dad only received the $100 he paid, he would have half the purchasing power of the $100 he paid 30 years ago.

I too will take more in terms of dollar amounts from SS than I paid, assuming an average lifespan. But my kids will be paying more into the system, just like I've paid more than my father, who started working when minimum wage was $1/hour.

The maximum to collect on SS is now more than double what inflation is.

There is no doubt inflation has happened. And SS has only screwed younger generations when it comes to inflation.
