I would only argue that this kind of process takes time. Meanwhile, they can still play that 60yo game of pointing the finger at the US as the bogeyman for all their (Cuban's) problems. Not saying that's right, just that it's a narrative they will and probably are selling.

I just feel, at some point, the people would start to really realize what they're missing out on and get more forceful in their opposition to the regime.

Additionally, this idea that a bunch of people are going to come over from Miami and "reclaim their land" is also highly problematic and is another thing the regime uses to bogeyman the US. You have more knowledge than I do here, what do the Cubans back home think about that?

Meh. Maybe Biden will be the CEO of a Cuban sugar company? Having them on the terrorist list is stupid. They aren’t terrorists. They are commies. Big difference.

Thats fair. The problem is that government has done such a good job at not providing them with anything tangible to form a revolution big enough to actually topple the regime in place. The money that should go to the Cuban people with regards to economic stimulus, trade and travel goes to the government or to its employees/military to stay "loyal". My in-laws know of a few people in the government who hate it but live a very comfortable life.

Ill have to ask about that question specifically. I haven't heard of anyone dying to go back, regardless of the reason. I don't see a ton of people looking to move back and deal with trying to get their land back. As far as I know, those who left on the freedom flights lost their rights to claim their land. Most was reclaimed by the government. This would be particularly hard to enforce after the regime is gone.
