Just received this email about The Sun Devil Tournament. Looks like we will be lucky if they are able to make ASU vs UF available. The GCU has been confirmed. My estimate is we will get USF vs UF, So we will probably get 3 of the 10 games from away.. Hi Will, Unfortunately, we are not streaming any of the tournament games. We are working through the network to try and get them streamed via espn+. Lexi Ruiz Director of Softball Operations Arizona State University Sun Devil Athletics | Tempe, AZ
Andddd I can tell it's still too early because I literally had a whole thought process about how it could make sense that someone with the best abs (in my mind, abdominal muscles) might have some extra core power to hit the ball harder/further/etc. I get it now though. At bats. Not ab muscles. Sigh.
Cassidy McClellan - Sophomore - OF, Why doesn't anyone on this forum spell this young lady's name correctly it's Cassidy McLellan, there is no capital C before the 1st L. This has been happening since she became a Gator,
Also, pronouncing the name correctly. Jeff Cardozo was mispronouncing Isabel Martin’s name. I called him on his radio show and taught him how to say her name. He got it right from then on.
WILLUM’S SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING SEC FINAL STANDING AND RESULTS Any system to predict the finish is flawed. So is mine. I was fooling around trying to decide if the SEC schedule was fair. I cam up with the idea that the 15 teams should be divided into tridents or three groups. I had to look up trident, too. Like Quadrants. When the Top 25 came out with ten SEC teams the proximity of the first five and the separation of the second five led me to group the teams as follows: I. Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M II. Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia III. Mississippi State, Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky I then played around with the schedules and produced some rules that might on average might work considering opponent strength and home field advantage: I vs I. Home takes series. I vs. II. Win series. I vs III Sweep II vs I. Lose Series. II vs. II Home wins series. II Vs. III Win series III vs. I lose by sweep. III vs. II Lose series. III vs. III Home Takes series Here are the results s showing win/lose and the number of series played against each group: Team. I. II. III. W / L Florida. 3. 3. 2. 17 / 7 Oklahoma. 3. 3. 2. 17 / 7 Texas. 3. 2. 3. 17 / 7 Tennessee. 3. 2. 3. 17 / 7 Texas A & M. 2. 5. 1. 15 / 9 Alabama.. 3. 3. 2. 13 / 11 Arkansas. 4. 1. 3. 12 / 12 Missouri. 3. 3. 2. 12 / 12 Georgia. 2. 3. 3. 12 /12 LSU. 3. 3 2. 11 / 13 South Carolina. 1. 3. 4. 9 / 15 Kentucky. 1. 3. 4. 9 / 15 Miss. State. 3. 2. 3. 8 / 16 Ole Miss. 2. 3. 3. 6 / 18 Auburn. 4. 1. 3. 5 /19 Auburn really got the shaft. They are likely to get swept four times. I invite you to sit down with the schedule and see if your results are similar.
Sometimes AI will use auto spell-check to change the spelling of a word or name to what it thinks is intended, instead of authors intended spelling of the word/name in the message. It is embolden to each of us to read and reread anything we post. This is just a shuttle reminder to authors. I need to do this each and every time I post…..unfortunately I don’t.
When I copied it from the roster it was correct, but when I pressed paste, Siri auto corrected or “auto misspelled it”. I missed the misspelling when I posted. I corrected it this afternoon. I am sorry didn’t catch it after the post.
I copy and paste every name from the roster list in the Gator website to make sure I spell it right. Siri got me this time.
Startin to get excited about Gator Softball!! The great conversations about whom TW decides to sit is so amazing to read.... If the staff can keep these ladies team first and hungry we should be able to handle what bumps and bruises come our way. The fact that our returning players are team first should create a great synergy!! Just can't wait to get this adventure started.... Reagan must play IMHO.... Power plays on any diamond in the middle of the lineup Go Gators!! Work em all Silly
I think most of us have a favorite starting lineup of the best players that we think gives UF the best chance to win each of our games. This follows the belief that the best win/loss record convinces everyone else that UF is the best team. Sure, this result will garner respect with an impressive preconference record - not to mention pile up the first teamer's stats. But that should not be important with this team this year. I think CTW should not necessarily go that route. We have players that have proven that they are great and everyone knows it. I believe CTW should use the preconference schedule to play as much of the bench as practical to expose those who are ready to showcase their development and potential to contribute the rest of the season. I mean how important is it that we steam roll lesser teams like North Florida, Illinois State, Delaware, Jax, etc.? These are the games that Townsen, Hovermale, Comia, Lamar, McLellan, Miller, Hammock, etc. should play - if not start. Sure, if the game gets questionable we can always sub in the first teamers as needed, even tho these supposed bench players are probably good enough to handle 75% of our preconference schedule. Not only would this be good to show CTW, who is ready to step up if needed in the conference games, but it would help lessen the frustration of such a talented roster sitting on the bench. Getting a chance in the limelight might be enough to satisfy a player's need for recognition, team contribution, and keep her from thinking about the portal.
I think Coach will get as many players involved as often as possible, once the game is in hand. He will not risk losing a game that we should win, for the sake of spreading playing time around.
