That qualifies him to be a Bn Operations Officer or XO. It does not qualify him to be SecDef. He should be nominated for DoD UnderSec of Policy, not SecDef.
While I don’t agree with his politics, “elections have consequences.” However, my concern is that he has never run a business of any size. He will lead the largest employer in our country (I think). No experience at all. What experience does he have to justify leading the entire defense of our country?
I think trump threatening to primary any Republican that votes against him will have an effect too. That may explain why he did not bother to meet with any Dem senator prior to the hearing which had never happened before.
He also demonstrated that he would be an excellent press secretary or spokesman for the Department of Defense or even the President. He is clearly unqualified to be SecDefense. That being said I expect him to be confirmed on a party-line vote maybe with only the bare minimum of 51 votes in the Senate possibly including a tiebreaker by JD Vance.
‘Kicked Their Asses’: Scott Jennings Says Dems’ Strategy For Hegseth Hearing Totally Blew Up In Their Faces | made me laugh when I saw the libby female's reaction- climate change is real hogwash
Yes he will with 51 or maybe 52 votes in the Senate. Not exactly an overwhelming expression of support.
Hegseth will be fine as the Sec. Trump is a pacifist. What could Hegseth do other than figure of which camera to look at? He is not the boogeyman that anyone needs to worry about.
That is an interesting position to advocate for somebody to get a job. Sure, he might have committed considerable sexual misconduct, but so have other people. So we should hire him!
